The Football Association are recruiting for a 12-month maternity PR & Campaigns Manager cover to join the Brand & Campaigns team. The role will lead in delivering best-in-class campaigns and activations across the season.



The role will focus on creating and executing integrated campaigns across Grassroots football, England Football, FA/England partner activations, as well as taking a lead comms role on campaigns such as Made For This Game, The Greater Game, Grassroots Football Start of Season activation, and in-school/community activations.



This role is an amazing opportunity for an individual with strong experience in leading communications and marketing campaigns. Working with the Brand & Campaigns Lead for The FA and England Football, the focus will be on delivering the campaigns through proactive PR, social activation and live events to drive positive engagement with FA initiatives.



It represents a perfect opportunity for someone with strong experience in leading marketing/communications campaigns, creative brainstorms and thinking, brand planning and multi-channel campaign execution within a fast-paced, professional sporting environment, working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.



The ideal candidate will be passionate about sports, whilst also having a strong working knowledge of the football landscape. Candidates will also have a good understanding of youth and lifestyle culture, emerging trends, brands, social media content, and a strong media contact list/network.



What will you be doing?

Lead Campaign Development: Lead the development and execution of fully integrated marketing and communications campaigns for England Football and The FA's purpose-led programmes, including but not limited to Start of Grassroots season Activation, Made For This Game campaign, Tackling poor behaviours through our Love Football, Protect The Game campaign, The Greater Game, Grassroots Football Awards and In-School activation to support equal access ambitions.
Campaign Asset Creation: Draft and edit campaign materials, including press releases, media notices, engagement plans, and other communications assets.
Creative and Content Oversight: Direct campaign creative work and asset development across owned, earned, and paid media channels.
Media Relations & Coverage: Define and drive media strategies to maximise coverage of campaigns and activations; proactively pitch PR stories and ideas to media outlets.
Talent & Influencer Management: Identify and engage relevant media, influencers, and talent for campaigns. Manage relationships and contracts with talent and their agents, including maintaining a detailed PR & Campaigns contact sheet.
Agency Management: Brief and oversee external PR and communications agencies to support campaign delivery.
Team Leadership: Provide line management to the PR & Campaigns Executive, supporting their development and workload prioritisation.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders across the organisation (e.g. Grassroots, Commercial, Marketing, and Communications teams) to align and deliver campaigns effectively.
Budget & Process Management: Manage the PR & Campaigns budget, ensuring accurate forecasting, monitoring, and spending across the season. Oversee relevant safeguarding and consent processes during campaign execution.
Campaign Planning & Reporting: Maintain and oversee the integrated campaigns calendar. Track performance metrics and deliver post-campaign analysis and reports.
Market Insight & Trends: Monitor and share industry trends and competitor activity with internal stakeholders to inform strategy and decision-making.
Equity & Compliance: Champion the FA's equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives. Ensure all work complies with company policies and prioritises the health, safety, and well-being of all stakeholders.
Executes additional tasks as required to meet the FA's changing priorities.
Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure that the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being can be maintained.

What are we looking for?



Knowledge:

Ability to lead on the development of creative PR/comms plans and execute to a high standard.
Strategic thinking.
Ability to creatively brainstorm and implement into PR idea/activation.
Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration (internal and external).
Execution of integrated campaigns across comms, marketing and content.
An interest in both men's and women's sports.
Willingness to innovate and embrace a new era of the media landscape, with a focus on digital/influencer media for selected campaigns.


Experience:

Strong experience working in a similar role.
Managed a wide range of agencies and vendors.
Strong experience of dealing with a variety of media, including national, broadcast, regional, football and lifestyle.
Strong experience in leading integrated campaigns, including content-first activations.
Experience in sports marketing/communications campaigns with a youth audience.
Experience working with influencers and content creators.
Calm under pressure.


Technical:

Strong writing skills with the ability to write to a deadline.
Ability to lead and work as part of a team, and build and manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
Capable of managing multiple tasks.
Confident communicator across key stakeholder groups and partners.
Strong project management and organisation skills.
Able to work on own initiative; accountable and reliable.
Strong planning and organisational skills.
Highly creative.
