GB Team Manager - senior women's squad Organisation British Handball Association Salary 0 Location Flexible Contract type Volunteer (Part time) Closing date 16 July 2025 Interview date 3 August 2025 Job Description Position Title: GB Team Manager – senior women Squad Reports to: Performance lead, Head of Team Managers,Location: Various (dependent on event or competition schedule)Role Type: Permanent part time (volunteer)Role PurposeTo manage the operational, logistical, and welfare aspects of the specific GB team during domestic and international camps and competitions. The Team Manager acts as the key liaison between athletes, coaching staff, parents (for youth athletes), and competition organisers, ensuring all team activities are executed smoothly, safely, and in line with the values and standards of British Handball Association (BHA).Key ResponsibilitiesEvents class as competitions and/or training camps (domestic or international) for the squad • Pre-Event Planningo Liaise with the BHA Office and Performance staff to plan all logistics (travel, accommodation, meals, kit, entry requirements).o Book as required training venues, accommodation etc as necessary in line with the head coaches and progamme needs.o Collect and manage personal information for all team members.o Distribute and collect signed consent, and other relevant forms.o Ensure compliance with UKAD anti-doping regulations and complete any required education (via Clean Sport Hub).o Coordinate team communication via agreed platforms (e.g., WhatsApp, email).o To act in partnership with the staff, BHA and players for the smooth running of the team.o To manage the budget of the squad across the year.• Event Operationso Serve as the primary point of contact for all operational issues during the event.o Manage and monitor daily schedules (training, match times, meals, meetings, rest).o Handle any welfare issues or code of conduct breaches in collaboration with BHA Safeguarding Officer.o Ensure safeguarding practices are in place and being followed.o Organise kit distribution, manage team movements, and maintain a professional team environment.o Provide emergency response support and complete incident reports when needed.• Post-Event Dutieso Collect feedback from players and staff.o Submit a trip report and any relevant incident or safeguarding documentation.o Ensure all equipment is returned and debrief with BHA staff on lessons learned.• Othero For making suggestions to improve the working situation and contribute to positive relations within their area of work and within the BHA as a whole o To help develop and maintain a successful image and profile for the BHA both within the UK and worldwide and to contribute to communication activityo For ensuring that the working environment is free of sexual and racial harassment and intimidation and any other form of harassment constituting unacceptable behaviour which is personally offensive o To comply with all aspects of the Health and Safety Policy and Arrangements and, in addition, for post holders with a management responsibility, to encourage their staff to ensure that they also comply with all aspects of these arrangements o To comply with all aspects of any codes of conduct that might apply under the GB programmeKey Skills and Experience• Strong organisational and time-management skills.• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.• Experience managing youth or elite sports teams is highly desirable.• Understanding of safeguarding principles.• Awareness of anti-doping responsibilities and Clean Sport practices.• Able to remain calm under pressure and resolve problems quickly.• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to team wellbeing and logistics.• Financial understanding of managing budgets• Shows integrity and is fair, equitable and ethical in approach.
