This role is a part-time (1-year fixed term) contract for the Season 2025-2026 in the EFL Championship.The successful individual will work within the first team medical department and the wider performance MDT to assist in the prevention and recovery of injuries, help maintain availability levels of the non-injured players through daily treatment and recovery strategies.The working hours will be split across the week between training and recovery days at the training ground in Shirecliffe, and occasionally Bramall Lane. This will be dependent on fixture scheduling. A small amount of match day cover may be required, but primarily the role will require cover the training ground.The ideal candidate would exhibit a breadth of clinical and personal skills.Role Responsibilities:- Independently provide elite level soft tissue therapy to the Sheffield United FC senior squad.- Provide treatments pre and post-training.- Assist the department in delivery of recovery days where requested.- Maintain communication to direct and secondary report, and the wider performance MDT when required.- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous medico-legal records on the club's choice of software.- Attend and contribute to staff meetings where requested.- Maintain personal and professional standards befitting of a Championship club clinician.Club wide Responsibilities:- To adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.- To report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club's Safeguarding agenda.- To report any concerns of discrimination to the relevant parties and promote a welcoming and inclusive club environment for all.- To adhere to the Club's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and all-encompassing.Clinical Skill Set:- Independent working and choice of treatment modalities clinically reasoned and safely administered, by the therapist will be encouraged.- This could potentially include, but not exclusively be limited to IASTM, cupping, dry needling/acupuncture and therapeutic massage. There is opportunity within the department to upskill on electrotherapeutic modalities of - deep oscillation therapy, ESWT and grade 4 laser therapy.Hours of Work:- This role consists of 24 hours per week, where possible planned in 6-week blocks. A degree of flexibility for changes in scheduling and fixtures will be required. Due to the nature of the sport and fixture scheduling over the season the hours of work will include evenings, weekends, public and bank holidays.- The fixed term will be reviewed after its expiration of one-year.Essential Criteria for the Role:- Minimum 3 years' experience working within a sporting environment.- Flexible working- Successful completion of DBS Check upon offer acceptance- Confident and clear communication skills, the ability to be adaptable in approach to different individuals, e.g., empathy vs assertiveness.- Ability to function under pressure.- Reliable and trustworthy.Desirable Criteria for the Role:- Full Driving License- First aid qualification, ATMMIF/ITMMIF qualification.
