Job Description
Background
Middlesex Tennis takes responsibility for the administration and development of tennis throughout the County, from those just thinking of taking up the game to tournament players of all levels. The
County Association affiliates to the LTA and upholds their rules and regulations. We work closely with the LTA to implement their vision of ‘Tennis Opened Up’ and support their mission to transform communities through tennis to make tennis welcoming, enjoyable and inspiring to everyone.

The Middlesex Tennis Management Board is comprised of a group of volunteer Trustees, all of whom have a particular interest in tennis and specialist skills relevant to the organisation and its work. We constantly strive to improve and broaden the services we offer so that we give support and service of the highest quality to all those involved with tennis in the County.

Middlesex Tennis has a small team of salaried individuals that work with the Middlesex Tennis Trustees and other volunteers. We are looking for a diligent and motivated individual to assist the team and Trustees in overseeing and leading the Middlesex Tennis Performance Pathway Programme for ages 7U to 10U. This role will be home based with regular travel across the County.

If you are passionate about tennis and have a high level of experience and knowledge of 10U performance tennis, we want to hear from you.

Role
• To oversee and lead the Middlesex Tennis Performance Pathway Programme for ages 7U to 10U driving both the quality of our talent identification processes, county training for these age groups and overall success at LTA County Cup events.

Specific Responsibilities
7U Performance Pathway
• Evolve the camp programme for this specific age group with the aim of delivering between 6 and 8 camps per year.
• Create strong networks with Middlesex venues and coaches to ensure players of potential are given the opportunity of attending this programme.
• Build strong relationship links with parents and deliver sessions in the areas of player development and competition.

8U – 10U County Training Programme
• Work alongside the Middlesex Tennis Team Administrator to ensure the county training is in place for winter and summer seasons.
• Organise and deliver county trials and sifts for relevant age groups.
• Attend a cross-section of sessions and liaise with county cup captains and ensure good knowledge of player standards.
• Organise and run parent’s meetings and workshops to inform this early year’s pathway stage.
• Act as point person around selections for LTA Regional Camps.

LTA County Cups and County Championships
• Oversee the selection of County Cup teams for age groups 8u – 10u.
• Attend where appropriate a selection of County Cup events.
• Attend annual Middlesex County Championship.

Person Specification
• Strong working knowledge and understanding of Middlesex Tennis performance programmes.
• High level knowledge of 10U performance tennis and strong advocate for mini tennis framework and pathway.
• Track record in working with 10U players to national level.
• LTA Level 4 coaching qualification minimum.
• Hold current LTA Coach Accreditation+.
