Job Description
Blackpool FC Community Trust has vast experience delivering in early years & primary settings and has worked with all primary schools across Blackpool.

Our Premier League Primary Stars programme is offered to all Blackpool primary schools. The programme aims to support primary school teachers to improve their knowledge, confidence and delivery of national curriculum PE lessons as well as increasing the attainment levels of pupils within Maths and English. We are passionate and care about the development and the future of the children in our town.

We provide a variety of support within primary settings from delivering national curriculum PE lessons to supporting mental health in targeted interventions, and healthy lifestyle programmes such as Fit2Go. Also, not only do we directly deliver to the pupils but we also work with teachers to support them in building their confidence and knowledge in PE delivery through our specialists’ team.

As an Early Years and Primary team we endeavour to support and assist every child in Blackpool and the Fylde Coast.

Job Purpose
Blackpool FC Community Trust is the official charity of Blackpool FC, based at Bloomfield Road
Stadium. Working with residents as young as 2 years old up to adults in the later stages of life,
BFCCT provide a diverse range of programmes to increase social inclusion opportunities; improve physical fitness, health and education; and lessen involvement in anti-social behaviour.

In recent years the Trust has grown significantly and has become an established organisation, providing something for everybody, that every Blackpool FC fan and resident should be involved in and very proud of.

Due to the expansion of our delivery of the Premier League Primary Stars programme, we are looking for someone to join the Community Trust as part of the established Primary Stars team.

We are looking for a PE Officer to work in the PE landscape of local primary schools, supporting teachers in delivering high quality PE lessons that ultimately benefit the pupils.

There are also additional elements of the Primary Stars project that the individual may deliver or coordinate, subject to confidence and competence within these areas. These include, but are not limited to, activities such as; social action, educational workshops, competitions/festivals and targeted interventions.

The post holder will have a broad range of experience in delivering high quality PE provision, whilst also having a good knowledge of health-related activity, to be used to inspire the people of Blackpool to live a healthy lifestyle.

Main Roles & Responsibilities
• Facilitate the professional development of local primary school teachers to increase their confidence, knowledge and skills to be able to deliver PE lessons, by working 1 to 1 to tailor their individual support plans.
• Deliver high quality PE, sport and physical activity sessions in local primary schools, with a range of participants and classes.
• To support the Community Trust and their approach to PE, using the Premiere League Primary Stars brand to drive delivery within PE.
• To develop and maintain relationships within primary schools.
• To deliver/co-deliver PE workshops to primary school staff, including the designing and planning of the workshops.
• To co-ordinate other aspects of the Premier League Primary Stars project where appropriate.
• To carry out administrative duties such as statistics forms, risk assessments and case studies.
• To co-deliver school holiday sports camps.
• Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and welfare of children and young people of all backgrounds and ensure the safety and protection for any person involved in any activity arranged by the Community Trust.
• Adhere to policies and procedures outlined by BFCCT.
• To always represent Blackpool FC Community Trust in a professional manner regarding dress,
presentation, personal hygiene, conduct and professionalism.
• Post holder must be available throughout the school year for work and take annual leave during school holidays, unless for a valid reason, to be agreed with line manager.
• To build and maintain relationships with local schools, grassroots football teams and partners to deliver quality programmes.

One Level 2 NGB qualification (Essential)
Level 2 Multi-Skills certificate (Desirable)
More than one NGB coaching qualification (Desirable)
A form of Safeguarding training (Desirable)
A form of mentoring training (Desirable)
Driving licence and access to a vehicle (Essential)

Knowledge
Firm knowledge and understanding of the Primary PE curriculum (Essential)
Knowledge and understanding of Premiere League Primary Stars Programmes (Desirable)
Knowledge and understanding of Assessment for Learning practices (Desirable)
Knowledge of child development, primarily aged 5-11 (Essential)
Knowledge and understanding of the demographic of Blackpool and Fylde coast, the residents, and the challenges that they may face (Desirable)

Skills & Experience
Experience of delivering PE lessons within primary schools (Essential)
Experience of working with primary school teachers and other school members of staff (desirable)
Experience of growing partnerships (Desirable)
Experience of planning primary school lessons, both mid-term plans and short-term plans, using a scaffolded approach (Desirable)
Previous experience of working within the charity sector or a Football Club Community Organisation (Desirable)
Able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication / presentation skills, which are culturally competent (Desirable)
Excellent communication and motivational skills (Desirable)
ICT Literate (Desirable)
Good organisation and time management skills, and able to prioritise and work within deadlines. (Desirable)
