Job Description: The Senior Nurse (Paralympic) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for nursing services supporting Paralympic athletes within the UKSI Sport Medicine Service. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and athlete-centred care that recognises the additional complexity, specialist clinical considerations, and individualised approaches required within Paralympic sport.

The postholder will champion high standards of clinical governance, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance (including CQC), while leading the operational management and continuous development of nursing practice for Paralympic athletes across sites and programmes.
Alongside providing expert clinical care, the Senior Nurse (Paralympic) will act as the key point of contact for impairment-specific nursing expertise, working collaboratively with Sports Medicine Doctors, allied healthcare practitioners, performance support teams, and external providers. The role will also contribute to national health initiatives and enabling services that enhance Paralympic athlete health, wellbeing, and performance.

Through visible leadership and specialist knowledge, the Senior Nurse (Paralympic) will help ensure world-class, inclusive, and performance-focused healthcare that enables athletes to thrive in high-performance environments.
