Working with the sports and events we fund, DCMS, and our partner organisations across the UK high-performance system, we are building on 25 years of ever-growing success to write the UK’s next chapter for Olympic and Paralympic sport.About the RoleThe role of the Major Events Advisor is to lead the frontline implementation of UK Sport’s strategy for major events through the management of UK Sport’s investment and technical support to major sporting events when hosted in the UK. The role will drive and support bidding, and delivery of major events through the development of partnerships across the events sector and will work across a number of major events at any one time working alongside hosting partners to include: cities, sports, home countries, regional bodies and event management companies.During the contract period, the successful candidate will be heavily involved in managing and supporting major event hosting partners through funding applications, challenging and informing applicants, formally assessing event business plans and budget and recommending the level of UK Sport investment through interaction with colleague, director and the Major Events Panel and therefore experience in this area would be advantageous.
