Player Care and Engagement Manager Organisation The Premier League Salary Competitive Location Home Based with frequent travel required to Clubs Contract type Permanent (Full time) Closing date 14 May 2025 Job Description Contract type: Permanent, full timeReports to: Senior Player Care and Engagement ManagerLocation: Home BasedOverview The Premier League’s Player Care and Engagement Team is looking for a Player Care and Engagement Manager to assist with the broad range of support services offered to current First Team and ex-Premier League players. The right candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as a strong background in the football industry with experience of supporting with players at the highest level of English Football.The Player Care and Engagement Manager will work closely with other members of the Football Operations Department, and wider business to provide a best-in-class service to the players and Clubs. They will also liaise with stakeholders such as the PFA to ensure all current and former First Team Premier League players receive the best possible support that will equip and prepare them for life both on and off the pitch. All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements. The role• Engagement with Premier League Club Player Care Staff to support their work, including onsite meetings, annual Player Care Staff Conference, etc• Engagement with key external stakeholders eg PFA, FA, EFL, LFE, LMA, etc• Engagement and collaboration with key internal stakeholders, including our Legal, Policy, Communications and Commercial departments, as well as key colleagues within the wider Football Department• Supporting the roll-out and development of new initiatives and projects, including courses and resources for club staff• Planning and delivery of significant celebratory Premier League Awards, eg Milestone awards and Homegrown Debut Balls• Managing the content and coordination of the Player App as well as developing other digital communication channels• Assisting the Football Operations department as required, particularly at key points eg pre-season preparation.Requirements for the role• Experience which has brought an understanding of Premier League football and the challenges of life in the professional game at the highest level. • Past experience within an elite sporting environment, whether that be in a playing or staff role. • Understanding of the function and impact of a Player Care team, ideally with demonstratable experience. • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral• High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills• Excellent operational and project management skills• Excellent IT skills and knowledge of social media platforms• Enhanced DBS• Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding considerations in elite level sport.• Mental Health First Aid training and a good understanding of the specific mental health challenges associated with elite sport (preferred) How to apply Our commitment to safeguarding includes implementing robust safer recruitment procedures to assess the suitability of individuals applying for roles that involve work with children and adults who are or may be at risk of harm.
