Job Description
Job title: Academy Recruitment Analyst

Department: Academy Recruitment

Based at: Blackburn Rovers Academy, Old Langho, Blackburn, BB6 8BA. Flexibility regarding location is required.

Reports to: Head of Academy Recruitment

Responsible for: N/A

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week plus any additional hours necessary for the performance of duties. This may include evening and weekend work.

Contractual Status: Permanent

Job purpose: To provide data-driven insights and visual presentations to support player recruitment decisions, trialist evaluations, and player progression reviews across all phases of the Academy.

Key responsibilities:
• To be committed to ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all staff and elite players, promoting their well-being whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
• Collect, manage, and analyse data from scouting reports, performance metrics, and match footage.
• Create and maintain dashboards and visual tools to support recruitment and retention decisions.
• Present insights on trialists and potential targets using video clips, data summaries, and visual presentations.
• Support player progression reviews by preparing evidence-based reports and presentations for internal meetings.
• Collaborate with scouts and coaches to contextualise data and video analysis.
• Maintain databases and ensure data integrity across platforms (e.g., Eyeball/Impect, FiP).
• Monitor trends in player development and recruitment outcomes.
• Assist in strategic reviews and reporting for Academy leadership.
• Complete a set amount of video games each week through Wyscout and Eyeball platforms;
• Assist with the exit strategy of our signed players when released to ensure the club promotes each player in the best possible way.

Skills & Experience required:
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
• Experience with video editing and presentation software (e.g., Hudl, Wyscout, Keynote, PowerPoint)
• Understanding of football performance metrics and scouting data
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills
• Experience in a football or sports performance environment (desirable)

Qualifications required:
• Degree in Sports Science, Data Analytics, or related field (preferred)
• FA Safeguarding Certificate (Essential)
• FA Emergency Frist Aid in Football (Essential)
• Valid UK Driver’s Licence

DBS check required: Yes (Enhanced)
