What is the role?

As an Assistant Coach, you will support the Women’s First Team Head Coach in developing and preparing a Women’s First Team Squad capable of success in the WSL2 and WSL1.

What will you be doing?

You will assist with the coaching of the Women’s First Team squad with the Head Coach, on and off the pitch. This will involve working with the full squad, smaller groups, and individuals, tactically and technically to improve players' understanding of how we want to play. In addition, you will monitor and assess all players in the First Team Squad and Academy players with the First Team, in training and match performances and maintain all appropriate records using the First Team platform for auditing processes. You will also be expected to ensure all First Team players have an Individual Player Development Plan and support the delivery of these plans on and off the pitch.

You will support the Head Coach with on and off-pitch management of 1st team squad players, building a strong professional culture of giving and receiving feedback. You will collaborate with both the Head Coach and Analyst to scout opposition through live observations and through available platforms, producing opposition analysis reports as required. Where appropriate, you may also contribute to the recruitment of players through the Recruitment Manager and Head Coach.

You will work closely with our Professional Game Academy Staff to ensure the integration of our high-potential Academy players into first team training and match squad and giving detailed feedback to the Academy Staff on performance and development.

If the Head Coach is unavailable you will step in and lead the staffing and player group accordingly.

Essential Skills and Experience

UEFA A License
Experience of Player Development
Current FA Safeguarding Children Workshop
Current Introduction into First Aid for Football
Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
Confident in giving and receiving feedback, thrives in a high support high challenge environment
Excellent IT skills, including the ability to utilise football specific platforms.
Ability to coordinate and prioritise programmes of work.
