Job Description

Aberystwyth Town FC is pleased to announce the commencement of the application process for the position of Women's First Team Manager.

We are seeking competitive, forward-thinking, self-motivated and dedicated candidates who aspire to be the very best. The successful candidate will manage all on and off-field football activities for Aberystwyth Town FC Women's First Team.

The Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the First Team's playing and coaching philosophy aligns with the Club's ambition and vision. This alignment should be driven through exemplary leadership, clear communication, and strategic planning.

In addition to aligning with the Club's vision, the Manager is expected to provide clear leadership and support to Club Players and Staff, fostering a high-performing team and environment rooted in strong community values.

Role Responsibilities:
 To deliver a clear vision and supporting football strategy for the First Team, ensuring it is aligned with the Club's vision & values.
 Ensure the Club has a professional and competitive squad, with a desire to develop, deliver and succeed to their full potential.
 Identify, assess, and recruit players to strengthen the squad, working within the club guidelines and budget.
 Manage the First Team support staff, providing strong leadership and effective performance management.
 Help with match day organisation.
 To adhere to any budgets, player transfer and salary policies as set by the Women's Committee.
 Work with the Women’s Committee to create a succession plan for first-team players.
 To oversee Women’s and Girls Section of the Club including the Development Team, and alongside the Head of Youth, U19’s and Development Centre, and support when necessary.
 Work with the Club's Media and PR department to promote the Club, ensuring communication is effective and in line with the Club's policies and procedures.

Club Wide Responsibilities:

 To adhere to all Aberystwyth Town Football Club's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.
 To report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club's Safeguarding agenda.
 To report any concerns of discrimination to the relevant parties and promote a welcoming and inclusive club environment for all.
 To adhere to the Club's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and all-encompassing.


Essential Criteria for the role:

✓ UEFA/FAW A License, valid non-UEFA coaching diploma which is equivalent to the one required by UEFA or UEFA/FAW B License and actively engaged on UEFA/FAW A License on commencement of the role.
✓ Tactically competent, with a successful track record of managing and/or coaching within a football team.
✓ Experience and enthusiasm for coaching and mentoring youth and senior players.
✓ Track record of consistent high performance in a football environment.
✓ Empathy with young players, with an ability to inspire.
✓ Excellent communication skills with the ability to build meaningful, strong strategic relationships with club staff, and wider football stakeholders.
✓ The ability to work with the Club on its strategic plan, both on and off the pitch
✓ A strong connection with fans and excellent PR skills, able to commit time to work with the local community.

Desirable Criteria for the role:

✓ A successful track record of managing and/or coaching within a semi-professional football team.
✓ Track record of consistent high performance in a football semi-professional environment.
✓ Previous experience working in Women's football.
✓ Previous track record of developing youth players.
