Sheffield United Football Club are seeking a highly experienced and driven individual to lead the First Team Analysis Department. This is a key leadership role within the footballing structure, responsible for delivering elite-level tactical and performance insights that directly influence match preparation and long-term strategy.The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of performance analysis at the highest levels of the game, strong data acumen, and the ability to lead a team in alignment with the Club's playing philosophy. You will be central to opposition analysis, the development of cutting-edge analytical tools, and the communication of complex insights in a clear and impactful way to players and senior coaching staff.Role Responsibilities:- Lead in the delivery of opposition analysis.- Collect, collate, analyse and feedback key data to coaching staff and players in relation to SUFCs playing philosophy.- Development of insightful tools & clear visuals to provide analytical support to senior football staff in a logical and efficient manner.- Ensure that existing and new databases are maintained and updated promptly.- Lead and manage a team of analysts, ensuring alignment with the clubs playing philosophy.- Travel to home and away games as required.- Any other reasonable requests as directed by the head coach.Club wide Responsibilities:- To adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.- To report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club's Safeguarding agenda.- To report any concerns of discrimination to the relevant parties and promote a welcoming and inclusive club environment for all.- To adhere to the Club's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and all-encompassing.Essential Criteria for the Role:- BSc / Equivalent degree in Sports Science or analytical fields.- MSc Sports Science/Sport Performance Analysis (or relevant degree topic).- 5+ years' experience in performance analysis at an elite level of football.- Experience leading and managing a team.- Experience working with data processing and analytics.- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical teams.- Self-motivated & committed to professional development.- Successful completion of an Enhanced DBS upon offer acceptance.Desirable Criteria for the Role:Knowledge and expertise with R or Python.Sufficient experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
