Job Description
Brief role description:
One of the key organisational priorities at parkrun is to develop its charitable fundraising reach. Whilst fundraising is relatively new to parkrun, it is our fastest growing income stream. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in expanding some of our existing activities like individual giving, 3rd party events & corporate fundraising. In the future, they will also be responsible for supporting new activity as we look to expand and diversify our activity in areas such as legacies, grants and major gifts.
We are looking for a motivated individual that has previous fundraising experience, is a self-starter and keen to learn in a dynamic and exciting role. The chosen candidate will work closely with the Fundraising Manager and use their forward thinking and creative mindset to help us unlock the potential in this growing area.

Main responsibilities:
Use your existing relationship management experience to offer first-class stewardship to parkrun supporters.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure effective delivery and the best possible experience for supporters. Providing administrative and project support to the fundraising and commercial teams.
Planning, budgeting and forecasting income on various 3rd party fundraising income streams providing accurate analysis for the finance team.
Preparing a variety of high-quality communications, including emails and presentations as required, for donors and prospects, using research skills to ensure quality and relevance.
Overseeing the individual giving income stream through the development of engaging acquisition and retention marketing campaigns, analysing results to optimise performance.
Build relationships with key internal stakeholders across communications, commercial, event delivery and volunteering to manage and support projects.
Attend parkrun volunteer events and represent parkrun externally at fundraising events always acting as a proud and inspiring ambassador for the charity. These events may take place on weekends.
Stay up-to-date with fundraising best practice and legislation, ensuring compliance with the Fundraising Regulators codes of practice.
Network with other fundraisers and charity staff when possible to increase your knowledge and creative thinking.,
Essential experience requirements:
A track record of developing and maintaining positive relationships with supporters or customers using strong stewardship skills through face-to-face, email and telephone communications.
Proven experience in fundraising, marketing, or relationship management within a non-profit or charitable organisation.
A proactive attitude with strong organisational skills and attention to detail, managing multiple projects from start to finish.
Experience of using a customer relationship management database, such as Donorfy or similar.
Project management experience and ability to evaluate and analyse campaign performance to better plan for future events.
Creative, confident self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable experience requirements:
Experience of working with volunteers and/or supporters at events.
Experience writing engaging and persuasive copy which inspires support.
Experience of working with fundraising membership programmes.
Knowledge and experience of individual giving, trusts and foundations and events fundraising practice.
A demonstrable understanding of current voluntary and community sector challenges and opportunities.
Ability to develop positive relationships both internally with staff and externally with suppliers.
Experience with email providers such as Campaign Monitor.

Communication: able to communicate complex information to nontechnical stakeholders, helping them to understand technical priorities in verbal and written form.
Demonstrates initiative and willingness to be a problem solver, seeking multiple solutions to problems and identifying the solution which best meets user and business needs.
Able to use a variety of IT systems and tools, such as google workspace.
Demonstrates a growth mindset, with a desire to improve and learn new skills.
