Ulster Rugby are currently inviting applications for the post of Communications Executive. Passion for domestic rugby in Ulster sits at the heart of this role. As Communications Executive, you will play a key part in telling the stories of the game across the province; from clubs, schools and age-grade teams to the domestic matchday environment. Combining creativity with strong media instincts, you’ll produce engaging written, video and audio content, act as a central media contact, and help grow and connect Ulster Rugby’s audience through compelling digital communications. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role for an enthusiastic communicator who thrives on deadlines, collaboration and bringing rugby in Ulster to life on and off the pitch.

The successful candidate will have a 3rd level qualification relevant to the key responsibilities of the role. In addition, they will have a minimum of 2 years’ practical experience in a communications or media role, experience in producing content for a wide range of social media channels, including emerging trends and experience with social media management on a variety of platforms.

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the sport of rugby union and a solid understanding of the local media landscape. It is essential that they have access to a form of transport that enables the postholder to meet the demands of the role in full and have the ability to be flexible with working hours as this position will involve travelling across the province, which will include regular evening/weekend work in updating the website and social media channels.

The post is being offered on a full-time permanent contract, successful completion of a 6-month probationary period. To apply, please download a detailed job description and person specification and complete the online application form. The closing date for completed application forms is no later than 10:00am on Monday 16th February 2026.

Applicants are strongly advised to read the guidance notes at the start of the application form prior to completion. CVs or emails expressing an interest in the position without completing the online application form will be disregarded.

Ulster Rugby is an equal opportunities employer and as such welcomes applications from all persons regardless of race, creed, gender, disability, family status or sexual orientation.

If your role involves working with children and young people you may be subject to vetting through Access NI/Garda Vetting Bureau. Please note that we are committed to equal opportunities for all and will not preclude applicants with criminal convictions.
