Job Description
Ready to take the next step in your career, growing alongside a vibrant independent bouldering wall? Indirock is a community-driven, non-profit climbing wall based in sunny Southend-on-Sea - just 50 minutes by train from central London.

As our Centre Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations, safety and standards, continuing to build Indirock’s friendly and welcoming community. We’re looking for somebody with experience in the climbing and/or leisure industry, with an interest in building teams and a community. In this role you will work closely with our Founder CEO to make Indirock a success, within a budget set by the Board.

The role

You will be responsible for:

All aspects of centre operations, including staff scheduling, customer service, cleanliness and facility maintenance.
The staff team including development and implementation of staff and work experience training programs, Staff meetings and performance reviews
All aspects of centre safety and compliance, including conducting risk assessments and ensuring incident reporting is compliant and analysed regularly.
Proactively driving business growth by exploring and implementing new ideas and partnerships.
Actively participate in the recruitment and selection process for all centre staff.
Demonstrating transparency, openness and respect in dealing with staff and members of the public.
Ensure a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere is created at Indirock, encouraging climbers of all abilities, backgrounds and income levels to feel part of the community.
Follow all health and safety, environmental and other procedures as laid out by the Company and provided in the Employee Handbook.
You may from time to time be required to carry out such additional or alternative tasks as the Company may require and to comply with the policies and lawful directions of the Company.

Essential Skills

Minimum 1 year of management experience within the climbing, leisure, or sports industry.
Excellent customer service skills and a strong ability to build rapport with customers and staff.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Google Workspace and CRM systems.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Passion for climbing/sports and a strong commitment to the company's values
Desired Skills

Bouldering instructor/coaching qualifications.
Safeguarding experience.
Driving license.
Hours/salary

37.5 hours/week
£34-38k depending on experience, plus KPI-related bonus
