Job Description
Superstadium Management Company are looking for a Head Grounds Person who will be responsible for the delivery of pitch maintenance and improvement at Stadium, Training Ground and any other first team training facilities to the highest standards. Managing a team of staff to deliver the highest quality playing surfaces and work flexibly due to the first team commitments.

Position Type: Permanent, Full time
Hours: 37.5 per week (full time) (you will be required to work evenings and weekends)
Location: MKM Stadium, Hull HU3 6HU
Closing Date: Monday 16th February 2026

Your key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation, maintenance, and remediation of all pitches across stadium and training facilities to professional standards.
• Ensure surrounding landscaped areas are safe, tidy, and well maintained.
• Ensure safe operation, maintenance, and record-keeping of all machinery in line with Health & Safety legislation.
• Manage procurement, stock control, and cost-effective use of materials, equipment, and services.
• Liaise with suppliers and consultants to improve pitch quality, practices, and staff training.
• Oversee close-season remediation, construction, and resurfacing works.
• Provide guidance on facility usage to maintain standards and improve efficiency.
• Maintain management information and reporting on staff, equipment, and materials.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including H&S, COSHH, and environmental regulations, conducting regular risk assessments.
• Motivate, manage, and appraise staff in line with company policy.
What are we looking for?

• Qualified with an NVQ Level 3 in Sports Turf Management or equivalent Qualification.
• Experience in working on professional sports pitches.
• PA1, 2a and 6 Spraying certificates are desirable.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to lead a team to achieve the desired standards.
• Able to work effectively lead a team and independently using own initiative.
• Full UK Driving License and own vehicle.
• The safeguarding and welfare of our players is paramount and as such this position is subject to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)

Eligibility for Employment in the UK
In accordance with current legislative requirements the successful applicant must produce documentary verification of their eligibility to work in the UK and will not be allowed to start work until this has been received.
