Job Description
The Role

The England Netball Regional Pathway Coach Mentors will play a key role in developing and supporting Coaches working within the England Netball Pathway Clubs. This role focuses on supporting coaches to identify their strengths and areas of development, reflecting with them to enhance their coaching practice and ongoing personal development. The Regional Pathway Coach Mentors will work collaboratively with Performance Pathway Coaches and the England Netball Performance and Pathway Coach Developer to deliver aligned, coach centred support.

The roles will support in the development of coaches working within our pathways enabling us to grow our capacity for coach support in the performance space. Our Performance Pathway Coach Developer will continue to remain focused on supporting coaches working within NSL and Next Gen whilst overseeing this programme developing our next tier of Coaches. 

Each Regional Mentor will support two coaches within their region from the England Netball Pathway Clubs listed below:

North: Manchester Thunder & Leeds Rhinos
East: Nottingham Forest & Loughborough Lightning
West: Birmingham Panthers & Team Bath
South: London Mavericks & London Pulse

Commitment

Performance and Pathway Mentoring Project January 2026 to December 2026

January/February: Onboarding and Introductions (2 Online meetings)
February/March: A minimum of two Coach calls & initiating Individual Performance
Plans (IPPs) (online)
April/May: One Community of practice (online)
June/July: A minimum of two coach calls & updates on IPPs
August/September: Two Coach calls or One insitu visit, updates on IPPs
October/November: One Community of practice (online)
December: Celebration event & final reflections (in-person)

Essential criteria

• Experience of mentoring and supporting coaches in a performance environment
• Experience of coaching within a performance environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to provide feedback and guide reflective practice
• Experience of responding to the developmental needs of individual coaches
• L2 England Netball Coaching Level Qualification or above
• EN Membership or willing to become an EN Member
• Current Safeguarding qualification
• Current First Aid Qualification
• Public Liability Insurance*
• Role is subject to an Enhanced DBS clearance.

* The successful candidate must provide their own Public liability insurance cover for the duration of the programme evidence of which will be required.

Desirable criteria:

• Experience coaching within a Netball Super League pathway environment
• Experience of delivering coach education and/or continued professional development workshops
