Location Collegiate School, Bristol Contract type Fixed Term (Full time) Closing date 2 March 2026 Interview date 10 March 2026 Job Description The Sports department at Collegiate Senior School are looking to appoint two Sports Assistant, with rugby or netball specialisms, to join our team of Sports Assistants for next academic year.The role will include:Coaching and officiating a selection of the school’s major sports: rugby, netball, hockey and cricketSupport of weekend fixturesGeneral teaching support duties in the PE and Sports departmentsSupporting our strength & conditioning programmeAdministrative tasks in support of the sporting provisionSupporting the organising of sports tournamentsSupporting school trips and eventsSupporting students pastorally at tutor timeSome support of Prep School Games may also be includedExpert Mentorship and Development:The successful candidates will work with and be supported by members of our Sports department; this includes our Head of Rugby, Olly Robinson (who has contributed to teams winning the European Challenge Cup, the Gallagher Premiership and the RFU Championship whilst playing for Bristol Bears, Cardiff Blues and Leicester Tigers), and Head of Netball, Ursula ‘Billy’ Pritchard (who played at the Commonwealth Games, World Championships, captained Wales in the 2007 World Cup and won the Super and Super League title with Team Bath).Through this post, Sports Assistants will develop their teamwork, resilience, confidence and problem-solving skills and many have subsequently gained employment as teachers and sports coaches, two of them at Collegiate School. Sports Assistants find the placement deeply rewarding and hugely developmental.Explore Opportunities Across Departments:There is opportunity during this placement to spend time and learn about other departments within the school that may be of interest, for example Marketing. We would also be happy to provide time for Sports Assistants to complete coaching and/or officiating courses to support their future career ambitions.Hours:Sports Assistants work 40 hours across 6 days for all of term time (35 weeks).
