Paralympic Programme Coach Organisation British Mountaineering Council Salary £12,600 pro rata per annum based on a 0.4 FTE (£31,500 FTE) Location BMC Office, 177-179 Burton Road, West Didsbury, Manchester, M20 2BB Contract type Permanent (Part time) Closing date 21 October 2025 Interview date 30 October 2025 Job Description The Paralympic Programme Coach will work within the Performance Department to play a key role in the development and support of athletes competing in Paralympic sport classifications.The purpose of the role is to provide high-quality coaching, guidance, and develop the Paralympic programme for a cohort of athletes aiming for LA28 and beyond. The coach will foster a supportive and athlete-centred environment, building strong relationships with athletes, their personal coaches (where applicable), and the wider performance team to ensure athletes are fully prepared to perform at the highest level.The BMC is looking for someone with a proven ability to coach and support athletes in a highperformance environment, bringing the passion and commitment needed to help Paralympic climbers achieve their full potential. You will offer strong technical expertise and training-planning knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster an inclusive and supportive training environment. Experience of working collaboratively with athletes, coaches, and support staff is essential, as is the flexibility and problem-solving mindset required at the highest level of performance sport.Equally, we are seeking someone who demonstrates humility, empathy and integrity and who values the voices of athletes, respects the contributions of others, and consistently acts with honesty and fairness.
