Job Description
Gymnastics isn’t just a sport—it’s a powerful force for change.

We believe in the power of gymnastics to change lives, enrich communities, and deliver an uplifting gymnastics experience for all across the UK.

At the heart of this are the people who make up the gymnastics community – gymnasts, parents, coaches, clubs, officials and volunteers – working together in communities across the country. As the national governing body for gymnastics in the UK, we work in partnership with our members to lead, support and inspire, helping to shape a bright future for our sport.

Our vision, Leap Without Limits, is underpinned by the values of being Aspirational, Supportive and Inclusive. Together, we’re building a sport where everyone feels welcomed, encouraged and able to thrive. This role is an important part of making that vision a reality.

The Opportunity

As our Impact & Strategy Officer, you’ll play a key role in helping us understand and strengthen the difference gymnastics makes.

You’ll support how we plan, track and learn from our work – from capturing feedback and stories to developing reports and dashboards. Your work will help the organisation reflect, improve, and clearly show the impact of gymnastics in communities across the UK.

Working across departments, you’ll contribute to strategic planning, reporting, and our learning and evaluation cycle. You’ll help turn insight into action – shaping how we measure success, share learning, and make informed decisions.

You’ll also support impact reporting for our Board and funders, and play an important role in embedding our Impact Framework across the organisation.

If you're curious, organised, and passionate about making a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

Main responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the role are:

Help maintain and update the British Gymnastics Impact Framework and planning tools
Help keep our planning and learning cycles on track and organised
Collect and make sense of insight from data, stories and feedback
Translate insight into clear summaries, visuals and messages others can use
Help coordinate the Learning & Evaluation Group – setting agendas, sharing actions, and following up
Provide admin support for strategic planning, business planning and board reporting
Contribute to building dashboards, timelines, templates and reporting tools
Lead the production of our Impact Report – showing the difference gymnastics is making
Support teams to understand and reflect on progress

About you

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:

Experience in planning, insight, evaluation or research – through work, study or voluntary roles
Confidence in using data, feedback or stories to support decision-making
Understanding of what “impact” means in sport, community or charity contexts
Experience with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint and survey platforms (e.g. SmartSurvey, SurveyMonkey); Power BI is a bonus but not essential
Experience supporting processes or reporting to internal stakeholders (e.g. boards, exec teams or funders)
Strong organisational skills – able to manage tasks, timelines and information clearly and calmly
Excellent communication skills – able to write clearly, create visual summaries, and adapt messages for different audiences
A collaborative, respectful and confident approach to working with people
Curiosity and a willingness to learn – always looking for ways to improve
The ability to balance attention to detail with seeing the bigger picture
An interest in sport, wellbeing or social impact – and enthusiasm for the difference British Gymnastics can make
How to apply
To apply visit British Gymnastics' careers page at https://britishgymnastics.jobs.people-first.com/jobs/search To apply you will need to upload a CV and a covering letter. In your covering letter, please tell us how you meet the requirements of the role, as outlined above and in the Role Profile.
