Job Description
The Opportunity

You’re an experienced gymnastics coach who would relish the opportunity to lead high quality gymnastics sessions to inspire children to lead active, healthy and happy lifestyles. Working across a number of our partner schools, you’ll deliver a terms worth of gymnastics before moving on to your next school, meaning no two terms are ever the same.

Day-to-day you will predominately be delivering high quality gymnastics sessions to classes of up to 30 children from various year groups (school years Reception to 6), abilities and backgrounds alongside a head coach. Alongside your session delivery, you’ll play a key role in mentoring class teachers, supporting them to build their confidence and develop their own gymnastics provision.

As a Specialist Gymnastics Coach, you are passionate, organised and resilient. You’ll be motivated by the challenge of stepping into new schools and making an immediate impact through outstanding gymnastics delivery. What’s important to you is being part of an amazing team and leaving a lasting difference in every school you visit. Ongoing training will be offered to support you to strive for excellence within the role.

Responsibilities:
· To plan and deliver safe, inclusive and holistic gymnastics sessions to children across a range of primary school ages.
· Adapt sessions to meet the needs of all children, including those with additional needs or varying ability levels.
· Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and equipment management at all times.
· Work alongside class teachers during sessions, modelling best practice in gymnastics coaching through our Teacher Mentoring programme to build their confidence and delivery skills.
· Support the development of the gymnastics programme and contribute ideas for improvement.
· Attend team meetings, CPD sessions and relevant training as required.
· Build professional relationships with parents, school staff and the young people to support their needs.
· Support the broader work of Bristol Sport Foundation, which may include administration tasks and events.

The Key Requirements:
· Hold a minimum Level 2 UKCC Gymnastics coaching qualification.
· Experience in coaching gymnastics in a community or school sport setting.
· Knowledge of the national curriculum for PE.
· Ability to build positive, long-lasting relationships.
· An understanding of safeguarding in a school and community sport setting.
· A commitment to supporting young people, and the principles of equality and diversity.
· Self-motivated and the ability to work on own initiative.
· Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
· Proven planning and organisation skills.
· Full UK driving license.

Please note - as this role involves working with young people, the successful candidate/s will require an Enhanced DBS Check.
