Job Description: About the Role

You need to be passionate about badminton and encouraging young people to get fit and active.

Able to support the delivery of fun, safe and inclusive badminton sessions for young people aged 8 to 19 years old (up to 25 with SEND). You will create an engaging environment where all abilities
are welcomed, and participants are encouraged to develop their skills, confidence and fitness through badminton. Sessions may be recreational, instructional or competitive in focus. You will be expected to maintain positive relationships with young people, promote participation, and uphold BLGC’s values during every session.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging badminton sessions tailored to different ages and skill levels.
• Establish positive relationships with children and young people.
• Promote skill development, teamwork, and physical wellbeing.
• Work with children and young people in small and large groups.
• Adapt delivery to ensure inclusivity for young people with disabilities or additional needs.
• Maintain a positive and safe environment, managing behaviour appropriately.
• Encourage participation and help young people feel valued and heard.
• Promote a positive image of BLGC and represent the organisation professionally.
• Understand and implement BLGC policies, especially around safeguarding and health &
safety.
• Report any incidents or safeguarding concerns in line with BLGC policy.
• Proactively identify and report any safeguarding concerns or inappropriate behaviour.
• Contribute to planning, set-up, and evaluation of sessions.
• Support wider sports and youth events as needed.
