Job Description
Organisation: Sport Industry Group

Location: Central London, with the option to work remotely 2 days per week

Duration: Permanent

Reports to: Event & Operations Manager

Base Salary: £28,000 - £32,000

Provisional Interview dates: 1st Round interviews will take place virtually on the 12th and 13th of January. If successful, please be prepared to attend a 2nd Round in-person interview on 15th of January.

Overview

As an Event & Operations Executive, you will play an active role in the delivery of all Sport Industry Group events. This will include, but is not limited to:

Supporting the Event & Operations Manager on the delivery of the Sport Industry Awards, Industry Report launch event and Sport Industry NextGen events
Supporting the team on the RSVP process for MAD//Sports, and other events
General events support on Sport Industry Dining & Socials
Taking the lead in some events, such as the Sport Industry Padel competition, the Mental Wellbeing events, and any new events as they arise
Administrative tasks related to the Judging and Entries for the Sport Industry Awards, as well as applications & selection for NextGen
Utilising our CRM system to identify invites and speakers to events
This role is for someone with experience in events, operations and logistics. We’re looking for someone who has exceptional attention to detail, hard-working, strong communication skills, proactive and flexible attitude, team player and natural self-starter. Experience and knowledge of the sport industry is beneficial but not essential.

As a member of a small team, you’ll be expected to contribute across all parts of the business, conducting your day-to-day tasks alongside various tasks across our roster of events and programmes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility in their approach, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work outside of normal office hours when required, especially when we have events.

Your Responsibilities:

Support, execute and deliver on a variety of events throughout the year.
Collaborate, support and manage a portion of these events end-to-end, from planning and operational management of events including venue and supplier, negotiation and management, through to execution and post-event analysis, surveys and collection of event feedback.
Researching, scheduling site visits and booking venues and event spaces, as well as understanding the event requirements when it comes to room layout, AV requirements, etc.
Building and maintain relationships with venues and suppliers.
Coordinating planning meetings to maintain event progress, creation of pre-event documents and ensuring all tasks are completed ahead of event delivery.
Managing event attendance invites, responses, dietary requirements, table plans, and seating logistics as required by the events.
Confident in briefing and managing both internal teams and external agencies to ensure successful event delivery.
Keeping track of event costs, adhering to budgets and ensuring all suppliers and vendor payment are managed and paid appropriately.
Providing on-site event support, and in the absence of the Event & Operations Manager, act as the point of contact for all event stakeholders.
