Job Description
About ActiveXchange
ActiveXchange is a multi award-winning data-technology company serving the sport, leisure and community sectors globally. We specialise in unlocking the value of data, helping organisations to increase their social and commercial impact and returns - from development and social impact intelligence, to sponsorship, advertising and commercial growth.
Our team combines sector and technology expertise, delivering impact from data to enable more active and engaged communities worldwide.
Role Overview
As an Account Manager at ActiveXchange, you will sit at the intersection of data analytics and customer engagement. You will help our customers - governing bodies of sport, leisure operators, local governments, brands/partners - get the most value from ActiveXchange’s products and services. You will combine analytical, technical and client-facing skills to understand customer needs, transform data into actionable insight, guide onboarding and ongoing usage, and drive retention, adoption, and expansion.
You will be an advocate for our customers internally, using data to identify opportunities for growth, improvement, and impact, while ensuring clients realise the full potential of our platform.
Key Responsibilities
Client Onboarding & Relationship Management

Manage the end-to-end customer onboarding process - from data ingestion/integration through to delivery of dashboards/reports, first insights and ongoing data services.

Serve as primary client contact for a portfolio of ActiveXchange customers; build and nurture long-term relationships.

Understand clients’ strategic goals (e.g. membership growth, community engagement, funding, commercial revenue, facility usage), and help them leverage ActiveXchange products and services to meet those goals.

Data Analysis & Insight Delivery

Work with raw and enriched data from multiple sources (CRM/member-management, third-party data, public statistics, movement data, etc.) to produce actionable reports, dashboards, and insights.

Translate analytic findings into clear recommendations — e.g. where to focus resources, which communities to target, potential funding or sponsorship opportunities.

Customer Success & Value Realisation

Monitor usage of the platform and customer health metrics; proactively identify at-risk clients or underutilisation and remediate through training, support and guidance.

Ensure clients derive maximum value from the platform - helping them interpret insights, sharing good practice, supporting periodic reviews and strategic sessions.

Work cross-functionally with internal Data, Product and Commercial teams to escalate customer feedback, influence product roadmap, and deliver improvements.

Reporting & Stakeholder Communication

Present findings and recommendations to customers, in meetings and report formats, which may include in person sessions and travel within the UK.

Assist clients in using data to build business cases, funding proposals, sponsorship pitches, community impact reports or strategic plans.

Provide ongoing account reporting (usage, engagement, outcomes) internally and to clients to demonstrate ROI and value.

Continuous Improvement & Best Practice Sharing

Help develop and document customer success playbooks, onboarding flows, training materials, data-handling procedures, and data-governance guidelines.

Stay up to date with data analytics best practices, sector trends (sport, recreation, community development), and evolving client needs; feed this back to product and data teams to innovate and improve.

Support scaling of Customer Success operations, helping shape how ActiveXchange delivers high-quality outcomes at scale across its global client base.
Attend and help contribute to regular industry events.

Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience in a data-driven or analytics role with strong exposure to customer or stakeholder-facing work (e.g. data analyst with account management, customer success + analytics, consultancy, etc.).

Strong competence with data analysis and business intelligence: comfortable working with large, complex datasets - ideally using SQL, data-visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau), Excel or equivalent.

Excellent ability to translate data insights into clear, actionable recommendations and communicate these to non-technical stakeholders.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills; comfortable engaging with clients across sectors (sports clubs, government agencies, brands, facility operators), understanding their strategic challenges and aligning data solutions to their objectives.

Good project management and organisation skills — able to manage multiple clients/accounts, coordinate with internal teams, meet deadlines, and ensure data and deliverable quality.

High integrity and respect for data security, confidentiality, and data governance standards. Given the sensitive nature of combined data sources, adherence to secure data handling and privacy best practices is essential.A mission-driven mindset aligned with ActiveXchange’s values: collaborative, innovative, impact-focused, and dedicated to helping communities become more active and engaged.

Nice-to-Have
Previous experience in sport, leisure, recreation, community facilities, or public sector clients.

Experience working with third-party data sources (demographic, movement data, location analytics) or data enrichment projects.

Some experience with reporting for funding proposals, sponsorship deals or community impact evaluation.

Familiarity with SaaS platforms, customer success workflows, and data-intelligence products.

What We Offer
Opportunity to play a key role in a mission-driven, fast-growing data technology company serving the sport/ recreation community.

Remote-first working with flexibility and a supportive, globally distributed team. Opportunity, based on location, to work from our Milton Keynes head office, alongside Regus membership to use other co-working locations.

The chance to shape customer success and data analytics practices - with impact on real-world communities, facilities and organisations.

Professional growth: exposure to data analytics, client engagement, product feedback loops, and cross-functional collaboration across Data, Product, and Commercial teams.
