Overview

Elise Christie is the current 500m world record holder and is a world silver medallist over 500m. The GB men's relay team are world bronze medallists. GB's only Olympic medal winner in the sport is Nicky Gooch, who won bronze in the 500m at Lillehammer 1994. The Gangneung Coastal Cluster will host Short Track Speed Skating at Pyeongchang 2018. The 12,000 capacity venue will house two ice rinks for competition and training respectively, and will also host Figure Skating at the Games.

Short track speed skating features the 500m, 1000m and 1500m for both men and women, and the 5000m relay and 3000m for the men and women's events respectively.
