Executive Assistant to the Commercial Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO)

British Cycling is considered the best in the world in international competition. Current standings at Olympic and Paralympic level mean that we require the very best support to our Executive Leadership Team. We now have an exciting new opportunity for an appropriately experienced individual who can enhance our executive effectiveness, operate with integrity by providing a pro-active, efficient, project & personal support to the Commercial Director and Chief Operation Officer, providing a bridge between commercial management, staff and stakeholders.

The role of the Executive Assistant is to:

• Provide efficient, confidential and robust support system for Commercial Director and COO (diary, correspondence, team management, key point of contact etc.)
• Closely and proactively manage the working week and longer term schedule of the Commercial Director/COO ensuring efficient communication and interaction with commercial team, management team and commercial partners.
• Support the Commercial Director in ensuring that Commercial & Marketing Team remain on track with budget, business and personal objectives.
• Provide support and act as the lead contact for key external figures such as partners, key stakeholders, consultants, suppliers and agencies.
• On occasion, attend key internal team meetings if Commercial Director is unavailable.
• Monitor the Commercial Director’s/COO’s mailbox on their behalf, disseminating correspondence where appropriate.
• Assist senior members of staff without administrative support where appropriate in relation to the Commercial Director and COO.
• Help to manage a range of project activities and events for staff, stakeholders, sponsors, volunteers and a wider sporting audience, coordinating team members and activities.

What you need:

We are keen to hear from individuals who have a minimum of Level 5 in Business Administration or equivalent qualification and/or compensatory work experience together with significant experience of providing and enhancing a high standard of Executive Assistant. You should have a successful track record in building trust and strong relationships with a range of stakeholders at community, corporate and governmental levels, and a good understanding of stakeholder framework – both commercial and political.

You will need to demonstrate proactive diary management and continuous optimisation of schedules especially planning and orchestrating efficient, effective and concise team meetings. You should be able to demonstrate evidence of achievement within a busy, diverse, target driven working environment and where IT Literacy (a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is paramount.

We need an individual who is proactive and who can anticipate problems - heading them off whilst at the same time being highly receptive to feedback, adaptable and resilient.
