British Olympic Diving coach Ady Hinchliffe is a UK Sport Elite programme graduate and currently works with Podium athletes Jack Laugher, Chris Mears and Alicia Blagg. Overall Ady has facilitated the achievement of 4 European medals and 5 World Junior Medals, 6 European Medals, 7 Commonwealth medals and 4 World Medals.
Ady started diving for Leeds as an age group diver in 1984 and competed regionally, nationally and internationally for the club in his diving years. After retiring and moving south, he returned north to coach in Bradford with Andy Banks in 1989 to pursue his coaching career.
Soon after he moved to Leeds to study at Carnegie (Leeds Met. University) in 2001, naturally made the move to the Leeds Diving coaching team. After graduating from University in 1994, Leeds City Council offered him a full time post as the Senior Diving Coach for the Diving Training Scheme.
Ady has coached on a World Class stage for the past 19 years, coaching in the past three Olympic Games. He describes himself as passionate and enthusiastic individual who has experience of coaching in an established High Performance centre for Diving.
He has coaches 5 Olympians alongside creating a diving centre in Leeds which provides a platform for success for both divers and coaches. Ady was awarded Performance Coach of the Year in 2014 at the Leeds Sports Awards and Diving Coach of the Year at the British Swimming Awards in 2015.
