National Delivery Officer (Central South & Gwent)
Home-based (within a commutable distance to Central South & Gwent)

About Us

Sported is a charity that delivers expertise, resources, and vital support to organisations that use sport and physical activity to make a positive impact on young people – and on our communities.

Our primary conduit is a network of clubs and groups that reached almost one million young people across the UK in 2023-24. Through support, resources, and funding – all provided at no cost – we create social impact and lower the barriers that prevent our next generation from realising their full potential. Working with trusted local leaders across London, we provide solutions through our team, backed up by a pool of volunteer consultants who offer professional support.

We are now looking for a National Delivery Officer to join us on a full-time, fixed-term basis for two years, working 37.5 hours per week.

The Benefits

- Salary of £27,295 - £28,840 per annum, depending on experience
- 25 days’ holiday in addition to statutory Bank Holidays
- Two additional days of personal leave per year for religious holidays and/or wellbeing days
- Volunteer Days - two additional days of paid leave each year to volunteer for another charity or our Sported members
- Up to five days of paid study leave for self-funded education/training
- Flexible working arrangements
- A confidential counselling service
- Access to a pension scheme
- Virtual Diversity & Inclusion ‘Open Space’ every month
- Cycle to Work Scheme

This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual with experience in project management within the community, sports or youth sector to join our impactful and mission-driven organisation.

You will thrive in our flexible and inclusive culture, where individuality is celebrated, your voice is heard, and you’re empowered to work in a way that suits you best.

What’s more, we’re passionate about helping you grow, offering inspiring learning and development opportunities that will ignite your potential and support your journey every step of the way.

So, if you’re ready to strengthen grassroots community groups and make a lasting difference in the lives of young people, read on and apply today!

The Role

As a National Delivery Officer, you will support and engage with community sports groups and deliver projects across Central South and Gwent.

Acting as a key point of contact for our network of groups, you will ensure they are aware of, and accessing, our range of services, while managing volunteer consultants to deliver tailored assistance.

You will also develop strong partnerships with local organisations and stakeholders, supporting our place-based approach to delivery and enhancing our presence in the region.

Additionally, you will:

- Manage meetings, workshops, and events for members
- Recruit volunteers and match them to member needs
- Support effective grant delivery
- Represent us at events and deliver presentations
- Maintain our membership database and provide reports

About You

To be considered as a National Delivery Officer, you will need:

- Experience of project management and operations within the community, sports or youth sector
- Experience in volunteer management and capacity building
- The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in using databases and spreadsheets for reporting and administration
- A suitable set-up to work from home (laptop/phone provided by Sported)
- A full, valid driving licence

Please note, this role will involve working occasional evenings and weekends as well as traveling throughout Wales regularly and occasionally in the UK.

The closing date for this role is Monday 23rd June 2025 at 9am.

Other organisations may call this role Community Project Officer, Regional Delivery Officer, Youth Sports Officer, or Sports Engagement Officer.

Webrecruit and Sported are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment. Equal opportunities are the only acceptable way to conduct business, and we believe that the more inclusive our environments are, the better our work will be.
