About Us

Sported is a leading charity supporting the UK's largest network of sport and physical activity groups. We exist to provide the skills, resources, and funding needed for these groups to become sustainable and deliver essential services to young people and their communities.

In an era of growing challenges, from poverty and crime to mental health struggles and youth unemployment, community sports groups provide vital opportunities for young people to thrive against the odds.

We are now looking for a Network Co-ordinator to join us for a five-year fixed-term contract with the possibility to extend. This is a part-time role working 22.5 hours per week over three days.

The Benefits

- Salary of £26,500 - £28,000 (pro rata)
- 25 days’ holiday in addition to statutory Bank Holidays (pro rata)
- Two additional days of personal leave per year for religious holidays and/or wellbeing days
- Volunteer Days - two additional days of paid leave each year to volunteer for another charity or our Sported members
- Up to five days of paid study leave for self-funded education/training
- Flexible working arrangements
- A confidential counselling service
- Access to a pension scheme
- Virtual Diversity & Inclusion ‘Open Space’ every month
- Cycle to Work Scheme

This is a fantastic opportunity for a charity engagement professional with experience of executing charitable strategies to join our passionate team.

In this rewarding role, you'll have the chance to make a real difference by supporting community sports groups to tackle the challenges of rural deprivation and create life-changing opportunities for young people.

What's more, your contributions will be on display for the foreseeable future as you will leave a lasting legacy of positive impact across the Highlands.

So, if you’re ready to create a brighter future, read on and apply today!

The Role

As a Network Co-ordinator, you will support community sports groups in rural areas of the Scottish Highlands, focusing on building relationships and facilitating collaborative networks.

Specifically, you’ll work to address the challenges of rural deprivation, helping groups create opportunities for young people to become physically active.

You will also help establish sustainable solutions that benefit the area and its people beyond the five years of the project.

Additionally, you will:

- Work with our insight team to deliver data-based insight
- Collaborate with the Delivery Team to share best practices
- Maintain accurate project administration, including evaluations

About You

To be considered as a Network Co-ordinator, you will need:

- Experience executing clear strategies for engagement, recruitment, and support
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of capacity building practices, such as fundraising and organisational development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

The closing date for this role is 18th June 2025.

Other organisations may call this role Community Engagement Co-ordinator, Programme Development Officer, Community Liaison Officer, Rural Development Officer, Sports Community Officer, or Charity Support Co-ordinator.
