Job Description
The University of Liverpool is highly committed to sport. One of our key targets is to raise the performance of our student teams competing in the British Universities and Colleges Sports league (BUCS).

The University of Liverpool is offering a unique opportunity for a head coach who is passionate about Lacrosse and is seeking to continue our drive for excellence by working closely with the Club Committee and Sport Liverpool Team.

We have 3 Lacrosse teams representing the university in BUCS competitions, our W1 team recently winning Premier North 2 and will compete in Premier North 1 in 2025/26. Our 1st team is part of the performance sport programme here at the university and Women’s Lacrosse is a priority sport for recruitment and development of talented student athletes.

You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be committed to improving performance and developing Lacrosse at all levels. You will have experience or empathy of working within a student environment.

Job Requirements

● To lead and deliver structured lacrosse coaching sessions to the Club Members at the University of Liverpool.
● To take responsibility for the 1st team coaching and match preparation
● Liaise with the SL team in working with Performance Athletes.
● To work with other coaches and captains to select teams for the BUCS fixtures.
● To provide feedback and development of Club Members.
● To assist in the recruitment of Club Members.
● To adhere to BUCS regulations
● To be committed to professional development.
● To assist in the development of the Club.

Playing Level of Teams
● 1st Team - BUCS Premier North 1
● 2nd Team – BUCS Northern Tier 2
● 3rd Team- BUCS Northern Tier 3

Training Times
● TBC but likely Monday/Tuesday evening
Attendance at Wednesday afternoon BUCS fixtures is also preferred, away travel may be required 5 fixtures per year.

2025/2026

Term time only 8th September – 8th May (26 weeks)


Required Qualifications

● UKCC Level 2 (or equivalent) with experience of working with advanced level players.
● Experience of playing Lacrosse to a high level is desirable.
● First aid certificate.
