Swim Coach Organisation The University of Portsmouth (Sport and Recreation) Salary £20/hour Location Ravelin Sports Centre, Portsmouth Contract type Permanent (Part time) Closing date 27 June 2025 Interview date 30 June 2025 Job Description Purpose of the RoleThe University of Portsmouth has multiple swim squads. This role specifically will be overseeing the ‘Compete’ squad. Members from the ‘Compete’ squad take part in BUCS (British University & Colleges Sport) Short Course, Long Course and BUCS Team Championships. They also compete in BUSL (British University Swimming League). The successful candidate will be available to deliver weekly training sessions for the club from September - April and attend events/competitions.The successful candidate will only be required to be available to deliver two of the following training sessions each week, which take place at Ravelin Sports Centre in Portsmouth: - Monday 6:30-8:30am- Monday 7.30-9.30pm - Tuesday 7:00-8:30pm - Wednesday 2:30-4:30pm - Friday 6:30-8:30am - Sunday 2.30pm-4.30pmMain Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the club committee and ‘Development’ coach to organise and deliver taster sessions and the clubs’ team trials- Plan, deliver and evaluate weekly training sessions for the compete squad- Communicate effectively with the Club Captain regarding squad selection for events- Attend competitions and events for the Compete squad where possible- Promote the club’s philosophy to all members - Adhere to the University’s Code of Conduct and relevant policies- Be fit to work with adults at riskCriteria:- Essential: Swim England Level 2 - Desirable: Swim England Level 3 - Essential: Previous coaching experience- Desirable: An understanding of Swimming within Higher Education How to apply To apply for this role, please complete the following Google Form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1d3gsxkfWAfYGcmAjqWK_BbsuSKFu3tKnuR4NE7CH3iw/edit The deadline for applications is the 27th June 2025.
