Job Description
PURPOSE & SCOPE

Position Type: Full-time. Fixed Term – July, August and September 2026.

Location: PFA London office. This is a hybrid role and so regular attendance in the office (for team meetings, specific projects etc.) will be required alongside remote/home working. The role may also require some travel.

About the role

The PFA is currently looking for a summer intern who will be a key member of the team in supporting all Academic Procedures and Programme Delivery at the Business School.

This internship is project‑based with defined outcomes and strong mentoring. You’ll work across operations and student experience, collaborating with admissions, academic administration, and marketing. The successful candidate will work on short and long-term projects with defined objectives. You will work closely with each member of the team learning, planning and carrying out essential responsibilities.

Projects you will work on

The summer is a busy period within the Business School. The successful candidate will work closely with the team in planning and organising the graduation event in September; work with an academic manager in the organising of the upcoming academic year, including detailing the curriculum and meeting with prospective teachers; support the admissions lead with the applications process leading into the new academic year; aid the planning of our Business School conferences; help develop and integrate a system of reporting finances of the department.

Specific tasks will include (but are not limited to):

Organising lectures

Designing the timetable for a course

Designing a new course brochure

Aiding the integration of our content on the new website

Help with the planning and administration of various Business School events

Setting up virtual learning environment pages

Designing and delivering induction materials

Other general administrative tasks as required.

How will you be supported

The successful candidate will be provided with a comprehensive induction with the school’s Director where objectives and expectations will be set. An academic programme manager will act as your mentor throughout the internship who will provide daily and weekly tasks to complete. They will also hold weekly meetings with you to discuss progress and performance. We would also like you to help us understand the skills, knowledge and/or behaviours you wish to gain during your internship with us and how we can support in the potential development of these.

Skills and Requirements

Essential

Right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship

Ability to work in our London office at least twice per week

Strong written communication skills

The ability to work on multiple projects at once

An eye for detail

Proactive and shows initiative

Works to find solutions and not just identify problems

Enjoys being collaborative

Working competency of Excel (sorting, filtering, basic formulas)

Currently in their final year of undergraduate study or hold a good degree.

Desirable

Familiarity with academic administration

Interest in higher education, business education, sport business, or student experience

Project management skills

Working with SharePoint, Zoom, Microsoft Office, Moodle

Event management experience

Advanced Excel (data handling, visualisations).
