Hours: Part-time or Full-time (to be discussed with the successful applicant)
Salary: £27,000–£33,000 (depending on experience)

Role Outline
SportInspired is a small but ambitious charity on a mission to improve children’s lives through the power of sport and community. We’re looking for a motivated and creative Communications Officer to help us share our story, engage with diverse audiences, and grow our digital presence.
This is a great opportunity for someone with 1-2 years experience in social media, communications, or marketing who wants to take on more responsibility in a supportive and collaborative environment. You’ll play a key role in managing our digital channels, creating engaging content, and ensuring our communications reach parents, teachers, corporate partners, and wider community stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Content Creation & Social Media
• Manage and grow SportInspired’s social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook).
• Create engaging content (posts, stories, graphics, short videos) to promote our programmes and impact.
• Write inspiring stories, case studies and news updates from our programmes and partners.
Website & Newsletters
• Support with maintaining and updating our website (WordPress experience desirable).
• Draft and distribute newsletters (MailChimp experience desirable) and blogposts to our stakeholders and networks.
Brand & Communications
• Ensure consistency of SportInspired’s brand across all communications.
• Support production of marketing materials (flyers, posters, reports, presentations).
• Help prepare communications for a range of audiences, from parents and teachers to corporate clients.

Person Specification
Essential:
• 1–2 years experience in a social media, communications, or marketing role.
• Experience managing LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook channels.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
• Creative, proactive, and able to work independently in a small team.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Desirable:
• Experience with WordPress or other CMS platforms.
• Knowledge of design or video editing tools (e.g. Canva, CapCut, MailChimp etc.).
• Experience working with schools, community organisations, or charities.
• Passion for sport, youth development, and community engagement.
