This important role is responsible for leading the investigation of crowd and safety-related incidents during both home and away fixtures, ensuring accurate evidence collection, thorough reporting, and appropriate follow-up action. The successful candidate will liaise closely with key stakeholders including law enforcement and contribute to the Club's sanctions and banning processes, while also supporting the continual improvement of matchday safety operations.Role Responsibilities:-Collect data, facts, and evidence from various sources, including witness statements, physical evidence, and electronic records to identify where offences or breaches of ground regulations have occurred. -Conduct interviews with witnesses, suspects, and other parties to gather information. -Analyse and integrate available information to establish the sequence of events. -Identify lines of inquiry and potential evidence-gathering opportunities. -Secure and preserve evidence at the earliest opportunity-Plan, Organise, and conduct investigations into matchday incidents including but not limited to criminal activity or other matters. -Develop and evaluate strategies to manage investigations. -Use computer systems and technology to perform online research and maintain digital records. -Identify appropriate witnesses and obtain accounts-Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and making recommendations. -Prepare, complete, and submit accurate case papers. -Liaise with stakeholders including the police where offences have been identified.-Assist in the development of development of match/event day practices to improve standards.-Support the Safety Officer in the preparation for match/event days-Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.Club Wide Responsibilities:-To adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.-To report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club's Safeguarding agenda.-To report any concerns of discrimination to the relevant parties and promote a welcoming and inclusive club environment for all.-To adhere to the Club's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and all-encompassing.Essential Criteria for the Role:-Experience in dealing with evidence and clear understanding of rules pertaining to handling and storage of exhibits.-Experience in preservation of CCTV images-Strong communication, negotiating and influencing skills-Hardworking and focused with attention to detail-Ability to work well alone to identify appropriate lines of enquiry in relation to an investigation-The ability to work in a fast-paced environmentDesirable Criteria for the Role:-PIP Level 2 or able to demonstrate extensive experience in the investigation of reported incidents or criminal activity.
