Job Description
VACANCY: CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER, SCOTTISH FENCING
Scottish Fencing is recruiting a new Chief Operating Officer to lead the day-to-day delivery of our organisation and help shape the next stage of fencing in Scotland.

About the role
Scottish Fencing is the national governing body for fencing in Scotland. We support a community of fencers, clubs, coaches, referees and volunteers across the country, working to grow and develop our sport and ensure that fencing is welcoming, accessible and able to make
a positive difference in people’s lives.
We are looking for an ambitious, collaborative and highly organised leader who can turn strategy into action. Working closely with our Board, staff, members and partners, the Chief Operating Officer will
lead the effective operation of Scottish Fencing: driving delivery against our strategic priorities, supporting and developing our staff, maintaining strong governance and financial oversight, and
ensuring that we remain accountable to our members, funders and partners.
The COO will also be an important external representative for Scottish Fencing, developing strong relationships with partners including sportscotland and British Fencing and championing the organisation, our members and the wider value of fencing in Scotland.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Scottish Fencing at an important point in our development. We are looking for someone who combines sound judgement and organisational discipline with enthusiasm, initiative and a commitment to helping people and communities benefit from sport.
