Salary: The starting salary offered for the post will be £6760. Annual pay awards will be made in accordance with the salary review procedures agreed by the scottishathletics Board of Directors.
Location: Working between the club training base at Ravenscraig Stadium and within Primary Schools in Port Glasgow, Greenock East and Greenock Southwest and Branchton Community Centre.

Inverclyde Athletics Club (SC047791) is a well-established and successful athletics club based in Greenock. The club has a membership of over 100 members and is supported by a number of volunteers. The club has successfully developed a pathway for total beginners through to International athletes.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for coaching and sports development. You are someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, are well organised, can think creatively to overcome challenges, and is committed to promoting and developing grassroots athletics as part of afterschool activity as well making a significant impact in the further growth and development of Inverclyde AC.

You will have a strong understanding of community engagement and activation, and have evidence of developing and sustaining positive and meaningful relationships, internal teams and Active Schools.

About the Role

To deliver after school athletics activity in partnership with Active School and to create pathways into Inverclyde AC to help grow the membership. The role will develop further engagement with Branchton Community Centre and the provision of athletics to the local community.

Staff

scottishathletics employs 33 members of staff and 21 Club Together Officers.

Hours of work

The person appointed will be expected to work for 10 hours per-week. Due to the nature of the post, there will be a requirement to work in the evenings and at weekends. The organisation encourages a flexible working approach from all staff, consistent with meeting the needs of the business.

Pension

scottishathletics operates a qualifying group pension scheme for auto-enrolment purposes and will match the successful candidates’ contribution up to a maximum of 6% of salary, including the legal minimum contributions required.

Annual Leave and Public Holidays

The annual leave entitlement for this post is 25 days [pro rata], increasing to 30 days after five years’ service. In addition, the public holiday entitlement is 10.5 days [pro rata].

Travel and Subsistence

The post holder may occasionally be required to travel to meetings within Scotland and occasionally in the UK. Travel and subsistence will be reimbursed at scottishathletics’ current rates.

Probationary Period

All new members of staff will serve a six-month probationary period before their appointment is confirmed.

Notice

This post carries a one -month period to terminate employment after the satisfactory completion of the probationary period.
