Start date: ASAP
Job Type: Part-time
Salary range: £28,000 - £32,000 + bonus scheme
Type of work: 3 days per week, including weekend event work and 1 day per week in the office (Tuesdays)

Role Overview
The Event Manager (Event Village Lead) will take ownership of delivering high-quality event day experiences across RunThrough’s events across the region, playing a key role in bringing each event to life on the ground. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role centred around weekend events, where you’ll be responsible for setting up, managing, and overseeing the event village to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for all participants.

Working closely with the wider team, you’ll attend weekly planning meetings while dedicating the majority of your time to on-site delivery, either across setup, single or double event weekends. This role is ideal for someone passionate about running and events, who thrives in a dynamic, outdoor environment and enjoys an unconventional working pattern focused on weekends. With full training provided, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills while contributing to the continued growth and success of RunThrough’s events in the region.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the setup, delivery, and breakdown of the event village at weekend running events
Oversee on-the-day operations, ensuring events run smoothly, safely, and on schedule
Manage and brief event staff and volunteers
On-site coordination with suppliers (timing, medical, etc.) to deliver seamless events
Act as the main point of contact within the event village, resolving issues as they arise
Provide a welcoming and well-organised experience for all participants
Maintain high standards of presentation, safety, and efficiency
Support event logistics including equipment loading, transport, and pack down
Attend weekly planning meetings to align on upcoming events
Van drop off and collection as required.

What We’re Looking For

Required

Experience in event delivery, operations, or volunteering (preferably within mass participation or sporting events)
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Confident leading teams, including staff and volunteers
Ability to problem-solve and make decisions quickly under pressure
Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
Hands-on, proactive attitude with a willingness to work outdoors in all conditions
Full UK driving licence (essential).

Preferred

Passionate about running and live events
Experienced with live events and event village organisation
First aid qualification.
