Now, we’re looking for someone who shares those values to join our academy.This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, is hands-on, and wants to be part of something bigger.Role Summary:The primary purpose of this role is to plan, design and delivery of the Pre-Academy Coaching programme, working alongside our lead academy coaches within the professional football environment. This role is to support the U6-U8 players within the pre-academy in line with the coaching philosophy, vision and values of the academy and the club.Our pre-academy training sessions are scheduled between one and two times per week with occasional matchday fixtures – Monday/Tuesday evenings (5 pm to 6.30 pm) and Saturday mornings (9 am-12 pm) for Home matches and the away matches are according to the oppositional needs.Your responsibilities will include:To be responsible for developing coaching sessions with our pre-academy cohort alongside other coaching staff.To deliver training/coaching sessions including planning time and submission of player attendance, training objectives and the session plan.To plan and lead both our academy home match and away matches at various venues in and around the city of Portsmouth.During any season, as part of ongoing learning, you must attend all CPD events to strengthen your knowledge of our academy programme.To be committed to supporting the young players through the academy games programme and provide a positive environment for the parents/carers.To develop the pre-academy players and progress them into the Foundation Phase Development programme.Always adhere to the clubs’ health and safety policy and safeguarding policy, and be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of all colleagues, young players and parents/carers.To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required.To promote an inclusive environment for colleagues, supporters, and visitors.About The CandidateYour Skills and ExperienceThe appointed coaches must have the:FA Safeguarding certificateRelatable First Aid in Sport certificateFA Emergency First Aid in Football (willingness to complete course ASAP after successful appointment – to be discussed at interview)FA Level 2 CertificateExperience of working in a coaching capacity in a professional football environment and with young children (U6-U8) is desirable.Right to work in the UK and enhanced DBS check is essential.Desirable qualifications:UEFA ‘B’ LicenceFA Youth AwardGuidance to consider:Please consider the below before applying:Due to the requirements and the commitment the roles require, it is advisable that candidates live within commutable distance to the city of Portsmouth.About The ClubWe promote an equal, diverse, and inclusive workplace and we are committed to providing the best experience for our colleagues.
