Currently competing in the EFL Championship, they play their home games at The Den, which is based in South Bermondsey, and has been the home of the Club since 1994Role Overview: We are looking for an organised, dedicated and hardworking people to Join our Academy Recruitment team.The Successful candidates will work within the Recruitment department and support the finding of local talent at our Academy.Key Responsibilities:The role includes, but is not limited to: • Assist with the management of the process of recruiting players into the Academy (phase specific); • Scout and report on games (in a format to be prescribed by the Club); • Attend relevant trial matches as designated by the Head of Phase Recruitment; • Be proactive and available to provide feedback on players • Return weekly games covered, identifying any key players to be monitored • Assist in keeping up-to-date lists of players and that their details are uploaded to the database; • Help to ensure the relationship with local grass roots clubs are maintained; • Help build relationships with local school-teachers and club managers; • Attend bi-monthly meetings with your assigned Regional Coordinator to provide feedback and updates on the games you have covered; • Attend all CPD events as required • Represent the Club in a positive and professional manner in the community and ensure that the Club’s code of conduct is always followed Safeguarding training identifies the importance of never allowing yourself to be in a situation where you are alone with a boy in a changing room or secluded area. • Understand the talent requirements of the club they represent and have knowledge of children’s technical and physical development.• Whilst at the club you will be expected to attend any FA Courses that may be relevant to your position as a Scout.Essential Requirements / Qualifications:• FA Level 1 in Talent ID • Strong knowledge of the local catchment area• Proven track record in identifying talent at grassroots and elite levels• Willingness to work unsocial hours, including evenings and weekends• Excellent interpersonal skills with a professional and honest approach• The successful candidate shall also display attributes that align with the values of the academy:Attitude – Selfless – Positive– Integrity – Respect – Excellence • And finally, from a safeguarding perspective, the successful candidate should be resilient, self-aware and open to sharing information.
