This role requires a detail-oriented and curious mindset responsible for analysing data, ensuring its integrity and providing actionable insights. You will collaborate with all functions within the finance department to ensure consistency in approach and that the needs of the functions are being met.
You will support the business during key financial processes throughout the year, for example, month end reporting, annual budgeting cycle and forecasting. Whilst being supported through in-role development and mentoring, the role is perfectly placed to experience and contribute to a high-performance culture

This is Your City

Your Impact
1. Reporting
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts reporting pack and variance analysis
• Support the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes
• Monitor KPIs monthly for review with Head of FP&A
2. Financial Modelling
• Build and maintain financial models to support scenario planning and business decision-making
• Explore opportunities to leverage system functionality to improve modelling
3. Data & Insights
• Work closely with FBPs and business units to track performance and understand key cost drivers
• Contribute to the development of dashboards and visual reporting tools
• Explore system capability to drive efficiencies in data exploration
• Prioritise accuracy of information
4. Presenting & Communication
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business initiatives
• Assist in improving financial processes, controls, and reporting systems


What we are looking for
Essential
• Understanding of core financial principles (part-qualified)
• Financial planning processes
• Advanced Excel skills
• Use of data and analytics to inform decision making and summarise complex data
• Detail orientated to produce robust reports and analysis
• Well organised with the ability to prioritise & manage multiple deadlines
• Strong analytical, process and problem-solving skills
• Able to produce clear, concise, and well formatted information with structure & key messages
• Self-motivated and willing learner, with strong motivation for self-development
• Results & quality focussed and able to meet internal deadlines for providing work outputs
• A team player, knowing when to collaborate and with a solution-focused attitude
• Act with the customer in mind and builds good relationships

Desirable
• Business & Strategy concepts
• Strength in utilisation of finance systems and analytics tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau.
• Ability to adapt to new situations and working environments
• Seeks and uses feedback / training opportunities to improve performance
• Open to new ideas and different perspectives
