This role focuses on delivering best-practice return-to-play programs, speed development initiatives, and supporting the lead S&C coach with tailored programs for positional groups. The successful candidate will play an active role in both gym-based and on-field sessions.Main tasks & Responsibilities:• Return-to-Play: Take the lead on the physical aspects of return-to-play programming, collaborating closely with medical and performance staff to ensure seamless reintegration of athletes following injury.• Speed Development: Design and implement cutting-edge speed and acceleration training strategies to enhance performance across all positional groups.• Programming: Work under the guidance of the Head of Strength and Conditioning to deliver, monitor, and evolve S&C programs.• Coach: Contribute to gym and field-based S&C sessions across the squad, ensuring high standards of physical preparation.• Collaboration: Collaborate proactively with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) including medical, coaching, performance analysis, and nutrition staff.• Team First: Foster a positive, professional, and supportive environment that aligns with Leicester Tigers' Club culture.• Mentorship: Actively support and mentor junior S&C coaches and interns, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.Education / Training: (E=Essential D=Desirable)• Degree or equivalent in Physical Education or Exercise and Sports Science (E)• Post-Graduate degree (MSc or PhD) in physical education or exercise and sports science (D)• Significant experience in an athletic performance (Strength & Conditioning) position within an elite/professional sports environment (Rugby is preferable). (E)• Knowledge around the profiling and screening of athletic qualities (E)• Excellent knowledge and programming skills around injury risk reduction (relative to the demands of rugby), and end-stage return to perform/play criteria (relative to injury type).
