Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
To work closely and support the Head Coach in overseeing the men’s field lacrosse team’s operations. While the Head Coach maintains overall responsibility for competitive performance and program direction, the GM ensures smooth execution of administrative, logistical and organisational functions, supporting the achievement of the strategic plan.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIES
Operational Support
• Manage all logistical aspects of open trials, training camps, rosters and overseas tours, coordinate equipment and logistics (such as booking fields and accommodation and all required “on-site” equipment) as well as effective scheduling of events.
• Be point of contact for all organisational and logistical matters on training weekend/game day including communicating the financial aspects and preparing/implementing contingency plans for critical aspects of training camps and/or game days.
• Ensure compliance with league rules, eligibility requirements and LS policies.

Leadership
• Work closely with the Head Coach, co-ordinating with the managerial team, to deliver the overall vision of the Men’s Field program (including fundraising and sponsorship, media, charity, medical and alumni).
• Serve as facilitator of discussions amongst the team, or between the team and the Lacrosse Scotland Board
• Support and ensure the managerial team are trained and prepared to deliver their measurables against the strategic plan.
• Set the agenda for, attend and lead weekly managerial meetings.
• Comply with all Lacrosse Scotland policies and procedures along with legal, ethical and social guidelines, ensuring that appropriate governance is adhered to, such as eligibility criteria, anti-doping policies etc.

Player/Staff Coordination
• Assist the HC with player recruitment logistics and onboarding processes.
• Maintain accurate player records and administrative documentation.
• Manage team communications including social media

Financial
• Maintain the team budget and financial health of the bank account.
• Be the decision maker and point of contact for financial costs and communications that affect National Team players (with agreement from the Lacrosse Scotland Board)

PERSON SPECIFICATION
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrate a willingness to promote and grow the programme in line with the Lacrosse Scotland strategic plan.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
- Strong organisational abilities and proven demonstrable skills in managing staff and players effectively.
- Able to work independently as well as being part of a team.
- Act professionally, demonstrating integrity and taking accountability.
- Comfortable handling confidential information and sensitive situations.
- Set high standards and strive for continuous improvement in self and others.
- Knowledge and understanding of key frameworks including but not limited to Anti-Doping, Safeguarding and Data Protection.
- Promoting and demonstrating anti-discrimination practices building an inclusive culture across all teams.
- Maintaining a flexible and positive approach to work at all times.
