The Role We are seeking an experienced Venue Media Operations Manager to join our Media Operations team and play a pivotal role in delivering a world class Commonwealth Games. This is a rare opportunity to work at the heart of a major international sporting event, collaborating with industry experts to help set a new benchmark for global sporting celebrations. In this role you will lead on the planning of all elements of media operations in the competition and non-competition venues. This includes venue media centres, tribunes, mixed zones, interview areas and photo positions in each competition venue along with facilities in training venues and the central Games Media Hub. Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Media Operations Manager, you will lead the planning and delivery of all aspects of media operations across competition and non-competition venues. This includes the design, setup and operation of venue media centres, media tribunes, mixed zones, interview areas and photo positions, as well as facilities at training venues and the central Games Media Hub. You will represent Media Operations within venue planning teams and work closely with functional areas across the Organising Company, including Venue Management, Sport, Overlay, Broadcast, Technology, Logistics, Catering and Workforce. In this role you will lead the development of operational policies, procedures and documentation, ensure safe working practices are in place, and coordinate planning with suppliers and international news agencies. You will manage resource scoping, oversee media volunteer planning and scheduling, contribute to volunteer training, and ensure all venue planning milestones are met. During Games time, you will play a key role in communicating operational information to the media and supporting the smooth delivery of services, while also contributing to post-Games reporting and knowledge transfer. Key Skills and Experience: The successful candidate will bring proven experience in a Media Operations planning or venue planning role. You will have extensive knowledge of local, national and international news organisations, a deep understanding of how media operate before and during large scale events, and success working with international media at a multisport international event. Strong project management skills, a track record of developing effective processes, and excellent written and verbal English are essential, along with a clear understanding of the evolving needs of modern media in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
