The Role We are now seeking a Workspace & Facilities Manager to join us on this exciting journey. This is a unique opportunity for a facilities professional to be at the heart of our operations, leading the day-to-day running of our brand-new Headquarters (HQ) – the central hub where our Organising Committee, partners, and suppliers will come together to deliver an altogether brilliant Games. Job Summary: As Workspace & Facilities Manager, you’ll ensure our HQ is more than just an office – it will be a vibrant, collaborative space where ideas are shared, relationships are built, and the Games come to life. You’ll take responsibility for the smooth running of all facilities and services, including maintenance, security, cleaning, office supplies, and reception. You’ll work closely with HR, Workforce Planning, and Games Integration to ensure the space evolves as our team grows, always keeping sustainability, accessibility, and employee wellbeing at the heart of your approach. Beyond the practicalities, you’ll be the face of Glasgow 2026 at HQ, building a warm, welcoming, and inclusive culture that empowers people to do their best work. As Games-time approaches, you’ll also lead the setup of key operational spaces such as the Games Operations Centre and Technology Operations Centre, working alongside colleagues in Event Operations, C3, and Overlay to ensure these environments support seamless delivery of the Games. Key Skills and Experience: To succeed in this role, you will already have significant experience managing offices or large facilities, with a strong understanding of both hard and soft facilities management. You will be confident in overseeing health and safety compliance and ideally bring relevant qualifications, although support will be provided if required. Your strong interpersonal and negotiation skills will allow you to influence, build relationships, and collaborate effectively across a diverse workforce and supply chain. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, bringing sound problem-solving skills, the ability to multi-task, and a steady focus on delivering practical solutions. Experience of working in dynamic or rapidly changing workplaces would be an advantage. Above all, you will combine operational expertise with a proactive and sustainable approach, ensuring that our spaces are safe, functional, and inspiring for everyone who works with us.
