Job Description
Glamorgan County Cricket Club is seeking an ambitious, driven and highly skilled Women’s Lead Physiotherapist to join our Sports Science and Medicine team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in supporting the growth of the Women’s Professional Programme and shaping the future of elite women’s cricket in Wales.

Important information about the role:

Initially, you will support both the Tier 2 Women’s Squad (Non-professional) and Girls’ Academy, delivering physiotherapy across rehabilitation, training, and match days. From 1st October 2026, this role will progress into the Lead Women’s Physiotherapist, as the Women’s Squad transitions to a professional programme (Tier 1). This is a unique opportunity to grow into a leadership role within a developing professional environment.

Working closely with the Head of Sports Science & Medicine, Director of Cricket and Head of Women’s Cricket, you will lead the physiotherapy provision for the Women’s Squad. You’ll be responsible for delivering excellent injury prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services, while contributing to innovation and excellence within a multidisciplinary high performance environment. This position involves regular travel throughout the UK during the cricket season and may include international travel. Furthermore, working evenings, weekends and bank holidays is expected as part of the role.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead physiotherapy services for the Women’s Programme.
• Supervise and Manage Girls Academy and Pathway Physiotherapist
• Deliver pitch side trauma management, first aid, and match day cover.
• Oversee medical screening compliance in line with ECB standards.
• Lead and manage the Women’s Health provisions and screening for the Women’s programme alongside the CMO
• Lead concussion screening and monitoring processes.
• Design and supervise evidence based rehabilitation programmes for senior athletes.
• Collaborate with S&C coaches to reduce injury risk and support player performance.
• Support and mentor the Women’s Academy & Pathway Physiotherapist, including involvement in complex case discussions.
• Maintain high quality medical notes using SmartaBase in line with CSP/HCPC standards.
• Assist with the ECB annual audit and contribute to in house CPD and national ECB CPD events.
• Ensure Emergency Action Plans are in place for all training and match day environments.
• Build and maintain strong, effective working relationships with coaches, medical staff, and external partners.
• Uphold Glamorgan’s values, behaviours and commitment to player welfare.

About You - Essential Requirements
• Degree in Physiotherapy (BSc or MSc).
• HCPC and CSP registration.
• Pitch side trauma qualification (or willingness to obtain before starting).
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in Musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
• Knowledge of basic S&C principles.
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong IT skills.

Desirable Experience
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
• Experience in leading on Women’s Health initiatives and interventions.
• Experience working in elite sport or with female athletes.
• Previous leadership/management responsibilities.
• Experience within a professional cricket environment.
