Job Description
The Opportunity:
Erewash Borough Council's Community Health and Wellbeing Development Team is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Casual Sport and Community Activity Assistants to help us deliver an exciting and busy summer holiday programme. The hands-on role will include delivering a variety of sport and community activity sessions within the borough, predominantly working with children and young people.

The Community Health and Wellbeing Development team have various ongoing projects which require staff to support delivery, such as school holiday schemes, youth engagement and wider community activities.

The positions are casual, with hours allocated according to service needs. Most opportunities will fall during school holiday periods, as well as weekday and evening sessions throughout the year.

About You:

We are looking for people with the passion and ability to inspire, motivate and encourage people through sport and community activity. It is essential that you have some experience of working with others to deliver sport and activities in a range of environments and community settings.

Candidates should have the confidence to communicate effectively and the ability to work on their own initiative, adapting activities to meet the needs of participants and ensuring all sessions are inclusive.

You will be punctual, reliable, and willing to travel within Erewash to support mobile provision at various locations. Full training will be provided; however, a recognised coaching qualification—or a commitment to completing the required training—is essential for the role.

Please note the successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

If you would like an informal discussion about this role, please contact Jordan Hedges, Community Health and Wellbeing Team Leader on 07842 231338 or email jordan.hedges@erewash.gov.uk
