Job Description
England Korfball is seeking an experienced Performance Programme Lead (volunteer) to work with our wider Performance Programme Team (volunteers).

Korfball is an attractive, fast moving, team sport played by men and women together. England Korfball’s vision for the sport is to ‘to boldly and creatively enable a growing korfball community to play, volunteer, enjoy and promote korfball’

England is currently ranked 9th in the world and we seek to put in place a 5-year strategy for our Performance Programme (alongside a wider strategy refresh process), defining overall goals and implementation plans.

We have U15, U17, U19, U21 and senior squads, who have typically trained on the weekend mainly in the south east of England.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:

• To lead, in close collaboration with the England Korfball Board and wider Performance Programme Team, a strategy development process putting in place longer term and annual objectives
• To oversee the Performance Programme Committee to ensure that the Performance Programme meets its agreed strategy, stated objectives, governance and legal obligations
• To ensure that there are appropriate safeguarding and other risk management strategies in place to support the development/competition of the squads
• To programme/lead regular meetings with the Performance Programme Team to ensure that there is open communication and regular updates
• To embed a culture of collaboration and effective working within the Performance Programme Team to ensure that overall goals will be met
• To have oversight of the finance strategy and plans for the Performance Programme, putting in place a fundraising strategy in line with a new 5-year strategy
• To provide detailed, accurate and timely reports for the England Korfball Board and the wider Performance Programme Team

The successful applicant will ideally be independent of Korfball club activity and have Performance Programme experience(s) in other sports’ elite /talent /development programmes. You will have a track record in building successful teams around explicit strategic objectives and you will be an accomplished in leading and working with volunteer teams.

The individual will have the skills, experience and capacity to effectively lead the Performance Programme Team including integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty, pragmatism and leadership skills.
