Job Description
PURPOSE

We're seeking an experienced Event Manager to join our Events team. This role supports senior managers in planning and executing cricket across all formats, collaborating with venues to deliver international, domestic, and The Hundred matches, as well as the ICC Women’s World Cup in 2026 across England and Wales. The key aim being delivering world class cricket for both the men’s and women’s game.

The ECB is a fun and energising place to work and the Events department is lively and full of talent.

YOU’LL BE DOING

Working closely with the team who lead on the planning and delivery of operational plans for core cricket to reach new audiences and grow the game.

Events department lead on Women's International cricket, working closely with the England Women's Operations team and Venue Managers to ensure smooth venue planning and delivery at host venues.

Working closely with Senior Event Managers and Head of Venue Management to the develop the operations plans for venue delivery, aligned to ECB, venue and key stakeholder requirements.

Implementing the agreed venue operational planning process, support venue planning cycles and related meetings for a cluster of venues.

Co-ordinating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Working with venue representatives to coordinate the compilation of venue delivery plans for each allocated venue, ensuring successful delivery of the agreed operations manual.

Facilitating pre-season site visits across events, broadcast, ticketing and event presentation.

Championing, at all times, the requirements of the competing teams to ensure the delivery of a world class platform for them to be able to prepare and perform at their best.

Working with the other departments of the ECB Events Team (Event Presentation, Broadcast, Accreditation, Ticketing, Safety & Security) to ensure their functional areas are at the forefront of all operational planning.

Championing the requirements of diverse groups of spectators ensuring accessibility and diversity of spectators is front and centre in venue planning.

Acting as lead on cricket and venue related operational delivery, in line with wider organisational and ECB objectives.

Providing support, access and communication with other departments ensuring “one team” approach both before and on match days.

Acting as Match Manager for selected matches across the International and Domestic calendar in both men’s and women’s cricket.

Coordinating and implementing briefings as identified, whilst also contributing to coordination and reporting.

Working within the agreed business planning framework, using the ECB programme management methodologies, documentation and reporting tools.

YOU’LL HAVE

Hands-on and operational experience implementing venue planning and delivery for sport events, with a knowledge of Cricket a distinct advantage.

A team player approach - resourceful and possessing the ability to demonstrate initiative, still seeking advice or support when required.

A focus on establishing, maintaining and positively leveraging effective stakeholder relationships with venue teams as well as all ECB departments.

An understanding of venue and operational safety, risk and environmental standards in a UK context.

Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, across a variety of stakeholders, with a focus on achieving agreed outcomes that contribute towards the overall organisational objectives.

Demonstrated organisational and administrative skills, with a strong attention to detail in the preparation of planning documents, communication and reports.

A proven ability to work with efficiency, flexibility, and good humour; understanding the ever-changing events environment which will include unsociable hours.
