Job Description
Derby County are seeking to recruit an Academy Receptionist to join the Academy Operations Department at our Category One Academy based at Moor Farm Training Centre.

We are looking for a welcoming, organised and proactive individual to become a key part of our Academy Operations team. Based at the Training Ground, you will be at the heart of day-to-day Academy activity, providing an excellent front-of-house experience and ensuring visitors, staff and stakeholders receive a professional and efficient service.

Alongside reception responsibilities, you will provide valuable administrative support to the Academy Operations team, helping to create a safe, well-organised and high-performing environment.

Key Role Responsibilities:
• Provide a professional, welcoming and efficient front-of-house service for players, staff, parents and visitors.
• Act as a key point of contact for in-person, telephone and email enquiries, ensuring a consistently high standard of service.
• Manage visitor access and sign-in processes, ensuring safeguarding, security and site protocols are followed at all times.
• Provide high-quality administrative and operational support to the Academy Management and Operations teams.
• Support the coordination of training schedules, fixtures, meetings, events and other Academy activities.
• Maintain accurate records, databases and documentation in line with EPPP and Club requirements.
• Support effective communication across Academy departments, players, parents and external stakeholders.
• Assist with the organisation and delivery of Academy events, matchdays, tours and programmes.
• Help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Training Ground, proactively responding to operational requirements.
• Support onboarding, meeting arrangements, deliveries, supplies and general office administration as required.
• Maintain reception and communal areas to a professional and high-quality standard.
• Provide flexible support across the Academy, including evening and weekend activity where required.

Personal characteristics and experience:
• Experience working in a professional, customer facing environment is essential
• Experience providing administrative support in a fast-paced setting is essential
• Experience within a professional sport or Academy environment is desirable
• Experience supporting operational or logistics based roles is desirable
• Strong understanding of safeguarding young people
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
• Proactive approach with strong problem-solving ability
• High level of attention to detail
• Competent IT skills (Microsoft Office and relevant systems)
• Professional, approachable, and confident manner
• Flexible and adaptable to changing demands
• Commitment to high standards and continuous improvement

Qualifications:
Essential
• GCSE Maths & English (Or Equivalent)

Desirable
• Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Customer Service

Salary is competitive, dependent on experience.

This is a full-time role, and due to the demands of professional football, there is a requirement for weekend and evening work.
