Lead Academy Physiotherapist Organisation Cardiff Rugby Salary 36,700.00 Location CARDIFF Contract type Fixed Term (Full time) Closing date 16 May 2025 Interview date 20 May 2025 Job Description An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cardiff Rugby on a full-time basis as Lead Academy Physiotherapist.The position will be based at Cardiff Arms Park and various locations throughout the Cardiff Rugby region, however the nature of the position can require travel as and when dictated by the needs of the organisation.The training schedule demands and promotes flexibility including travel, as well as various Match day commitments. This is a full-time role, however the nature of the position also requires that timings of work will vary according to weekly schedules.KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:a) To lead the delivery of the academy physiotherapy servicesb) To assist delivery physiotherapy needs of the academy and developing squad players under the guidance of the Senior Squad Physiotherapists. c) there is the opportunity observe and assist the Senior Squad Physiotherapists with daily assessment / treatment requirements. Also on opportunity, if desired, to be involved with First Team match days.d) Working to an appointment system for player soft tissue and physiotherapy treatment.e) To assist / deliver with the weekly recovery services as required.f) Ensure the physiotherapy treatment room is kept in an impeccable manner, with all appropriate equipment and bedding sanitised and hygienic.g) organise the delivery of Cardiff RFC matchday services for home and away fixtures as required. To include organising paramedic / doctor provision for Home Games.h) Deliver small group mobility / Prehabilitation sessions to the academy cohorti) Deliver 1:1 rehabilitation sessions to the academy cohortj) Data entry to enable consistent correlation against incidence of injury under the guidance of the Senior Squad Physiotherapists daily.k) Lead on injury management and rehabilitation of the academy players. To include communication with Academy manager, coaches and Cardiff RFC management team.l) Organise staffing for the Cardiff Rugby Academy, Cardiff RFC and age grade teams under the guidance and support of Head of Medical Services / academy managerm) Lead match day physiotherapy services for Cardiff Rugby Academy / Cardiff RFC matches under the guidance of the Senior Squad Physiotherapists / Head of Medical Services / academy managern) Deliver / organise physiotherapy provision for Cardiff RFC training sessionsExperience, skills & qualifications:EssentialA qualification at degree level (Bsc/Msc) in Physiotherapy Relevant experience in a sporting environment. Relevant experience in a sporting environment. Ideally has a minimum three years’ continuous experience of working with athletic populations.Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) as a Chartered Physiotherapist and registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)An understanding of the various sports science and medicine disciplinesKnowledge of physiotherapy and rehabilitation methods related to recent advances in musculoskeletal medicine in the sporting environment.DesirableFulfilment of the WRU / RFU ICIS Pitch side Trauma management course.
